²² And if those days had not been cut short, no human being would be saved. But for ^(A)the sake of the elect those days will be cut short.

²⁰ And if the Lord had not cut short the days, no human being would be saved. But for ^(A)the sake of the elect, whom ^(B)he chose, he shortened the days.

¹⁰ Therefore ^(A)I endure everything for the sake of the elect, that they also may obtain ^(B)the salvation that is in Christ Jesus with ^(C)eternal glory.

²⁴ For ^(A)false christs and ^(B)false prophets will arise and ^(C)perform great signs and wonders, ^(D)so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect.

³¹ And ^(A)he will send out his angels with a loud ^(B)trumpet call, and they will ^(C)gather ^(D)his elect from ^(E)the four winds, ^(F)from one end of heaven to the other.

¹⁴ For many are ^(A)called, but few are ^(B)chosen.”

¹¹ though they were not yet born and had done nothing either good or bad—in order that God's purpose of election might continue, not because of works but because of ^(A)him who calls—

² For ^(A)I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem to battle, and ^(B)the city shall be taken ^(C)and the houses plundered ^(D)and the women raped. ^(E)Half of the city shall go out into exile, but the rest of the people shall not be cut off from the city.
