¹⁶ “then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.

²¹ Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, let those who are in the midst of her depart, and let not those who are in the country enter her. ²² For these are the days of vengeance, that ^(A)all things which are written may be fulfilled.

¹⁵ When the morning dawned, the angels urged Lot to hurry, saying, ^(A)“Arise, take your wife and your two daughters who are here, lest you be consumed in the punishment of the city.” ¹⁶ And while he lingered, the men ^(B)took hold of his hand, his wife’s hand, and the hands of his two daughters, the ^(C)Lord being merciful to him, ^(D)and they brought him out and set him outside the city. ¹⁷ So it came to pass, when they had brought them outside, that ^[a]he said, ^(E)“Escape for your life! ^(F)Do not look behind you nor stay anywhere in the plain. Escape ^(G)to the mountains, lest you be ^[b]destroyed.”

⁷ By faith ^(A)Noah, being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, ^(B)prepared an ark for the saving of his household, by which he condemned the world and became heir of ^(C)the righteousness which is according to faith.

²⁰ He who ^(A)feared the word of the Lord among the ^(B)servants of Pharaoh made his servants and his livestock flee to the houses. ²¹ But he who did not regard the word of the Lord left his servants and his livestock in the field.

Jeremiah Imprisoned

¹¹ And it happened, when the army of the Chaldeans left the siege of Jerusalem for fear of Pharaoh’s army, ¹² that Jeremiah went out of Jerusalem to go into the land of Benjamin to claim his property there among the people.
