³⁸ See! Your house is left to you desolate;

⁵ But if you will not ^[a]hear these words, ^(A)I swear by Myself,” says the Lord, “that this house shall become a desolation.” ’ ”

²⁴ And they will fall by the edge of the sword, and be led away captive into all nations. And Jerusalem will be trampled by Gentiles ^(A)until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.

The Great Tribulation^(A)

^14 (B)“So when you see the ^(C)‘abomination of desolation,’ ^[a]spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not” (let the reader understand), “then ^(D)let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.

¹³ They also set up false witnesses who said, “This man does not cease to speak ^[a]blasphemous words against this holy place and the law; ^14 (A)for we have heard him say that this Jesus of Nazareth will destroy this place and change the customs which Moses delivered to us.”

The Destruction of Jerusalem^(A)

^20 (B)“But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation is near.

⁶ “These things which you see—the days will come in which ^(A)not one stone shall be left upon another that shall not be thrown down.”

⁴³ For days will come upon you when your enemies will ^(A)build an embankment around you, surround you and close you in on every side, ^44 (B)and level you, and your children within you, to the ground; and ^(C)they will not leave in you one stone upon another, ^(D)because you did not know the time of your visitation.”

³⁵ See! ^(A)Your house is left to you desolate; and ^[a]assuredly, I say to you, you shall not see Me until the time comes when you say, ^(B)‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’ ”
