³² Fill up, then, the measure of your ancestors.

¹⁶ And they shall come back here in the fourth generation, for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet complete.”^(A)

¹⁴ And now you, a brood of sinners, have risen in place of your fathers, to increase the Lord’s fierce anger against Israel!

¹⁶ by hindering us from speaking to the gentiles so that they may be saved. Thus they have constantly been filling up the measure of their sins, but wrath^[a] has overtaken them at last.^[b](A)

⁶ I said, “What is it?” He said, “This is a basket^[a] coming out.” And he said, “This is their iniquity^[b] in the whole land.” ⁷ Then a leaden cover was lifted, and there was a woman sitting in the basket!^{[c] 8} And he said, “This is Wickedness.” So he thrust her back into the basket^[d] and pressed the leaden weight down on its mouth.^{(A) 9} Then I looked up and saw two women coming forward. The wind was in their wings; they had wings like the wings of a stork, and they lifted up the basket^[e] between earth and sky. ¹⁰ Then I said to the angel who spoke with me, “Where are they taking the basket?”^{[f] 11} He said to me, “To the land of Shinar, to build a house for it, and when this is prepared, they will set it down there on its base.”^(B)
