Before the High Priest

¹² Then the detachment of troops and the captain and the officers of the Jews arrested Jesus and bound Him.

^52 (A)Then Jesus said to the chief priests, captains of the temple, and the elders who had come to Him, “Have you come out, as against a ^(B)robber, with swords and clubs? ⁵³ When I was with you daily in the ^(C)temple, you did not try to seize Me. But this is your ^(D)hour, and the power of darkness.”

Peter Denies Jesus, and Weeps Bitterly^(E)

^54 (F)Having arrested Him, they led Him and brought Him into the high priest’s house. ^(G)But Peter followed at a distance.

Jesus Faces the Sanhedrin^(A)

^57 (B)And those who had laid hold of Jesus led Him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were assembled.

¹¹ For the bodies of those animals, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned outside the camp. ¹² Therefore Jesus also, that He might ^[a]sanctify the people with His own blood, suffered outside the gate. ¹³ Therefore let us go forth to Him, outside the camp, bearing ^(A)His reproach.
