³⁷ Finally he sent his son to them, saying, ‘They will respect my son.’

The Supremacy of God's Son

1 Long ago, at many times and ^(A)in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, ² but ^(B)in these last days ^(C)he has spoken to us by ^(D)his Son, whom he appointed ^(E)the heir of all things, ^(F)through whom also he created ^(G)the world.

^35 (A)The Father loves the Son and ^(B)has given all things into his hand. ^36 (C)Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; ^(D)whoever does not obey the Son shall not ^(E)see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.

For God So Loved the World

¹⁶ “For ^(A)God so loved ^(B)the world,^{[a] (C)}that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not ^(D)perish but have eternal life.

³⁴ And I have seen and have borne witness that this is the Son^[a] of God.”

¹³ Then the owner of the vineyard said, ‘What shall I do? I will send my ^(A)beloved son; perhaps they will respect him.’

⁶ He had still one other, ^(A)a beloved son. ^(B)Finally he sent him to them, saying, ‘They will respect my son.’

¹⁷ and behold, ^(A)a voice from heaven said, ^(B)“This is my beloved Son,^[a] with whom I am well pleased.”
