The Return to Nazareth

¹⁹ But when Herod died, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt,

²⁰ But as he considered these things, behold, ^(A)an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary as your wife, for that which is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.

^25 (A)By his cunning he shall make deceit prosper under his hand, and in his own mind ^(B)he shall become great. ^(C)Without warning he shall destroy many. And he ^(D)shall even rise up against the Prince of princes, and he shall be broken—but ^(E)by no human hand.

²² But when he heard that Archelaus was reigning over Judea in place of his father Herod, he was afraid to go there, and ^(A)being warned in a dream he withdrew to the district of Galilee.

¹² And ^(A)being warned ^(B)in a dream not to return to Herod, they departed to their own country by another way.

The Flight to Egypt

¹³ Now when they had departed, behold, ^(C)an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and said, “Rise, take the child and his mother, and flee to Egypt, and remain there until I tell you, for Herod is about to search for the child, to destroy him.”

⁴⁵ And he shall pitch his palatial tents between the sea and the glorious holy mountain. Yet he shall come to his end, with none to help him.

¹⁶ Therefore say, ‘Thus says the Lord God: Though I removed them far off among the nations, and though I scattered them among the countries, yet ^(A)I have been a sanctuary to them for a while^[a] in the countries where they have gone.’
