²⁵ When His disciples heard it, they were greatly astonished, saying, “Who then can be saved?”

^5 (A)Even so then, at this present time there is a remnant according to the election of grace. ⁶ And ^(B)if by grace, then it is no longer of works; otherwise grace is no longer grace. ^[a]But if it is of works, it is no longer grace; otherwise work is no longer work.

⁷ What then? ^(C)Israel has not obtained what it seeks; but the elect have obtained it, and the rest were ^(D)blinded.

¹³ For ^(A)“whoever calls ^(B)on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

²³ Then one said to Him, “Lord, are there ^(A)few who are saved?”

And He said to them, ^24 (B)“Strive to enter through the narrow gate, for ^(C)many, I say to you, will seek to enter and will not be able.

²⁰ And unless the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake, whom He chose, He shortened the days.

²² And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; ^(A)but for the ^[a]elect’s sake those days will be shortened.
