^9 (A)And if your eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life with one eye than with two eyes to be thrown into the ^(B)hell^[a] of fire.

^8 (A)And if your hand or your foot causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life crippled or lame than with two hands or two feet to be thrown into ^(B)the eternal fire.

^22 (A)strengthening the souls of the disciples, encouraging them ^(B)to continue in ^(C)the faith, and saying that ^(D)through many tribulations we must enter the kingdom of God.

^29 (A)If your right eye ^(B)causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away. For it is better that you lose one of your members than that your whole body be thrown into ^(C)hell.

²² But I say to you that ^(A)everyone who is angry with his brother^[a] will be liable ^(B)to judgment; whoever insults^[b] his brother will be liable to the council; and whoever says, ‘You fool!’ will be liable to ^(C)the hell^[c] of fire.

¹¹ Let us therefore strive to enter that rest, so ^(A)that no one may fall by the same sort of disobedience.

²⁴ For ^(A)whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it. ^25 (B)For what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses or forfeits himself?
