⁴ Whoever becomes humble like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

¹⁰ Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you.^(A)

¹¹ For all who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”^(A)

⁴³ But it is not so among you; instead, whoever wishes to become great among you must be your servant,^(A)

¹¹ The greatest among you will be your servant.^{(A) 12} All who exalt themselves will be humbled, and all who humble themselves will be exalted.^(B)

⁴⁸ and said to them, “Whoever welcomes this child in my name welcomes me, and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me, for the least among all of you is the greatest.”^(A)

⁵ In the same way, you who are younger must be subject to the elders.^[a] And all of you must clothe yourselves with humility in your dealings with one another, for

²⁶ It will not be so among you, but whoever wishes to be great among you must be your servant,^{(A) 27} and whoever wishes to be first among you must be your slave,
