³⁴ And in anger his lord handed him over to be tortured until he would pay his entire debt.

²⁵ Come to terms quickly with your accuser while you are on the way to court^[a] with him, or your accuser may hand you over to the judge and the judge to the guard, and you will be thrown into prison.^{(A) 26} Truly I tell you, you will never get out until you have paid the last penny.

¹³ For judgment will be without mercy to anyone who has shown no mercy; mercy triumphs over judgment.^(A)

⁵⁸ Thus when you go with your accuser before a magistrate, on the way make an effort to reach a settlement,^[a] or you may be dragged before the judge, and the judge hand you over to the officer, and the officer throw you in prison.^{(A) 59} I tell you, you will never get out until you have paid the very last penny.”^(B)

⁸ in a fiery flame, inflicting vengeance on those who do not know God and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus.^{(A) 9} These will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, separated from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might,^(B)

¹⁰ they will also drink the wine of God’s wrath, poured unmixed into the cup of his anger, and they will be tormented with fire and sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb.^{(A) 11} And the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever. There is no rest day or night for those who worship the beast and its image and for anyone who receives the brand of its name.”^(B)

³⁰ But he refused; then he went and threw him into prison until he would pay the debt.
