¹⁹ “Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them^(A) by my Father in heaven. ²⁰ For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”^(B)

¹² Very truly I tell you, whoever believes^(A) in me will do the works I have been doing,^(B) and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. ¹³ And I will do whatever you ask^(C) in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. ¹⁴ You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.

Jesus the Great High Priest

¹⁴ Therefore, since we have a great high priest^(A) who has ascended into heaven,^[a](B) Jesus the Son of God,^(C) let us hold firmly to the faith we profess.^{(D) 15} For we do not have a high priest^(E) who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are^(F)—yet he did not sin.^{(G) 16} Let us then approach^(H) God’s throne of grace with confidence,^(I) so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

¹⁶ If you see any brother or sister commit a sin that does not lead to death, you should pray and God will give them life.^(A) I refer to those whose sin does not lead to death. There is a sin that leads to death.^(B) I am not saying that you should pray about that.^{(C) 17} All wrongdoing is sin,^(D) and there is sin that does not lead to death.^(E)

The Prayer of Faith

¹³ Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray.^(A) Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise.^{(B) 14} Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders^(C) of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil^(D) in the name of the Lord. ¹⁵ And the prayer offered in faith^(E) will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. ¹⁶ Therefore confess your sins^(F) to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.^(G) The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.^(H)

¹⁷ Elijah was a human being, even as we are.^(I) He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years.^{(J) 18} Again he prayed, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth produced its crops.^(K)

¹⁹ My brothers and sisters, if one of you should wander from the truth^(L) and someone should bring that person back,^{(M) 20} remember this: Whoever turns a sinner from the error of their way will save^(N) them from death and cover over a multitude of sins.^(O)
