¹⁹ Again, truly I tell you, if two of you on earth agree about any matter that you^[a] pray for, it will be done for you^[b] by my Father in heaven.

¹⁷ As it is written: I have made you the father of many nations^[a](A)—in the presence of the God in whom he believed,the one who gives life to the dead^(B) and calls^(C) things into existence that do not exist.^{(D) 18} He believed, hoping against hope, so that he became the father of many nations^[b](E) according to what had been spoken: So will your descendants be.^{[c](F) 19} He did not weaken in faith when he considered^[d] his own body to be already dead^(G) (since he was about a hundred years old)^(H) and also the deadness of Sarah’s womb.^{(I) 20} He did not waver in unbelief at God’s promise but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God,^{(J) 21} because he was fully convinced^(K) that what God had promised, he was also able to do.^(L)

¹² Fight the good fight^(A) of the faith. Take hold of eternal life^(B) to which you were called and about which you have made a good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

⁴ because everyone who has been born of God conquers the world. This is the victory that has conquered the world: our faith.

The Certainty of God’s Testimony

⁵ Who is the one who conquers the world^(A) but the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?^(B)

² because the law^[a] of the Spirit of life^(A) in Christ Jesus has set you^[b] free from the law^[c] of sin and death.^(B)

⁴ You are from God, little children, and you have conquered them, because the one who is in you^(A) is greater than the one who is in the world.^(B)

¹¹ And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead^(A) lives in you, then he who raised Christ from the dead will also bring your mortal bodies to life through^[a] his Spirit who lives in you.
