¹⁶ But if you are not listened to, take one or two others along with you, so that every word may be confirmed by the evidence of two or three witnesses.^(A)

Law concerning Witnesses

¹⁵ “A single witness shall not suffice to convict a person of any crime or wrongdoing in connection with any offense that may be committed. Only on the evidence of two or three witnesses shall a charge be sustained.^(A)

¹⁹ Never accept any accusation against an elder except on the evidence of two or three witnesses.

Further Warning

13 This is the third time I am coming to you. “Any charge must be sustained by the evidence of two or three witnesses.”^(A)

¹⁷ In your law it is written that the testimony of two witnesses is valid.^(A)

²⁸ Anyone who has violated the law of Moses dies without mercy “on the testimony of two or three witnesses.”^(A)
