¹³ And if he should find it, assuredly, I say to you, he rejoices more over that sheep than over the ninety-nine that did not go astray.

¹³ For ^(A)judgment is without mercy to the one who has shown ^(B)no ^(C)mercy. ^(D)Mercy triumphs over judgment.

³⁴ Jesus said to them, ^(A)“My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to ^(B)finish His work. ³⁵ Do you not say, ‘There are still four months and then comes ^(C)the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, ^(D)for they are already white for harvest! ^36 (E)And he who reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit for eternal life, that ^(F)both he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together.

⁵ And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. ⁶ And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, ^(A)‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep ^(B)which was lost!’ ⁷ I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents ^(C)than over ninety-nine ^[a]just persons who ^(D)need no repentance.

The Parable of the Lost Coin

⁸ “Or what woman, having ten silver ^[b]coins, if she loses one coin, does not light a lamp, sweep the house, and search carefully until she finds it? ⁹ And when she has found it, she calls her friends and neighbors together, saying, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found the piece which I lost!’ ¹⁰ Likewise, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”

²³ And bring the fatted calf here and kill it, and let us eat and be merry; ^24 (A)for this my son was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ And they began to be merry.

³⁷ Behold, I will ^(A)gather them out of all countries where I have driven them in My anger, in My fury, and in great wrath; I will bring them back to this place, and I will cause them ^(B)to dwell safely. ³⁸ They shall be ^(C)My people, and I will be their God; ³⁹ then I will ^(D)give them one heart and one way, that they may fear Me forever, for the good of them and their children after them. ⁴⁰ And ^(E)I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from doing them good; but ^(F)I will put My fear in their hearts so that they will not depart from Me. ⁴¹ Yes, ^(G)I will rejoice over them to do them good, and ^(H)I will ^[a]assuredly plant them in this land, with all My heart and with all My soul.’
