Take Up the Cross and Follow Him^(A)

^24 (B)Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and ^(C)follow Me. ²⁵ For ^(D)whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. ²⁶ For what ^(E)profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or ^(F)what will a man give in exchange for his soul? ²⁷ For ^(G)the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father ^(H)with His angels, ^(I)and then He will reward each according to his works.

The Beast from the Earth

¹¹ Then I saw another beast ^(A)coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb and spoke like a dragon.

¹² And he exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence, and causes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, ^(A)whose deadly wound was healed.

¹⁵ He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak ^(A)and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed.

³ And I will give power to my two ^(A)witnesses, ^(B)and they will prophesy ^(C)one thousand two hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth.”

The Witnesses Killed

⁷ When they ^(A)finish their testimony, ^(B)the beast that ascends ^(C)out of the bottomless pit ^(D)will make war against them, overcome them, and kill them.
