²³ But he did not answer her a word. And his disciples came and begged him, saying, ^(A)“Send her away, for she is crying out after us.”

¹⁵ Now when it was evening, the disciples came to him and said, “This is a desolate place, and the day is now over; ^(A)send the crowds away to go into the villages and buy food for themselves.”

⁴⁷ And when he heard that it was ^(A)Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” ⁴⁸ And many ^(B)rebuked him, telling him to be silent. But he cried out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”

² And you shall remember the whole way that the Lord your God has led you ^(A)these forty years in the wilderness, that he might humble you, ^(B)testing you ^(C)to know what was in your heart, ^(D)whether you would keep his commandments or not.

⁷ Joseph saw his brothers and recognized them, but he treated them like strangers and ^(A)spoke roughly to them. “Where do you come from?” he said. They said, “From the land of Canaan, to buy food.”
