²² And behold, ^(A)a Canaanite woman from that region came out and was crying, ^(B)“Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David; my daughter is severely oppressed by a demon.”

Jesus Heals Two Blind Men

^27 (A)And as Jesus passed on from there, two blind men followed him, crying aloud, “Have mercy on us, ^(B)Son of David.”

¹⁵ said, “Lord, have mercy on my son, for he has ^(A)seizures and he suffers terribly. For often he falls into the fire, and often into the water.

²⁵ But immediately a woman whose little daughter had an unclean spirit heard of him and came and fell down at his feet. ^26 (A)Now the woman was a ^(B)Gentile, ^(C)a Syrophoenician by birth. And she begged him to cast the demon out of her daughter.

Answer Me When I Call

To the ^(A)choirmaster: with ^(B)stringed instruments. A Psalm of David.

³⁸ And he cried out, “Jesus, ^(A)Son of David, have mercy on me!” ³⁹ And those who were in front ^(B)rebuked him, telling him to be silent. But he cried out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”

¹³ But the tax collector, ^(A)standing far off, ^(B)would not even lift up his eyes to heaven, but ^(C)beat his breast, saying, ‘God, ^(D)be merciful to me, a sinner!’

¹³ and lifted up their voices, saying, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.”

¹⁷ And someone from the crowd answered him, “Teacher, I brought my son to you, for he has ^(A)a spirit that makes him mute. ¹⁸ And whenever it seizes him, it throws him down, and he foams and grinds his teeth and becomes rigid. So I asked your disciples to cast it out, and ^(B)they were not able.” ¹⁹ And he answered them, “O ^(C)faithless generation, ^(D)how long am I to be with you? How long am I to bear with you? Bring him to me.” ²⁰ And they brought the boy to him. And when the spirit saw him, immediately it ^(E)convulsed the boy, and he fell on the ground and rolled about, foaming at the mouth. ²¹ And Jesus asked his father, “How long has this been happening to him?” And he said, “From childhood. ²² And it has often cast him into fire and into water, to destroy him. But ^(F)if you can do anything, have compassion on us and help us.”
