²⁷ But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, ^(A)“Take heart; it is I. ^(B)Do not be afraid.”

^17 (A)When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. But ^(B)he laid his right hand on me, ^(C)saying, “Fear not, ^(D)I am the first and the last, ¹⁸ and the living one. ^(E)I died, and behold I am alive forevermore, and ^(F)I have the keys of Death and Hades.

^11 (A)The following night ^(B)the Lord stood by him and said, ^(C)“Take courage, for ^(D)as you have testified to the facts about me in Jerusalem, so you must ^(E)testify also in Rome.”

³³ I have said these things to you, that ^(A)in me you may have peace. ^(B)In the world you will have ^(C)tribulation. But ^(D)take heart; ^(E)I have overcome the world.”

I Am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life

14 ^(A)“Let not your hearts be troubled. ^(B)Believe in God;^[a] believe also in me. ² In ^(C)my Father's house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that ^(D)I go to prepare a place for you?^{[b] 3} And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you ^(E)to myself, that ^(F)where I am you may be also.

^20 (A)But he said to them, “It is I; do not be afraid.”

³⁸ And he said to them, “Why are you troubled, and why do doubts arise in your hearts? ³⁹ See my hands and my feet, that it is I myself. ^(A)Touch me, and see. For a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see that I have.”
