²⁶ But when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, ^(A)they were terrified, and said, “It is a ghost!” and they cried out in fear.

³⁷ But they were ^(A)startled and ^(B)frightened and ^(C)thought they saw a spirit.

⁴⁹ but when they saw him walking on the sea they thought it was a ghost, and cried out, ⁵⁰ for they all saw him and ^(A)were terrified. But immediately he spoke to them and said, ^(B)“Take heart; it is I. ^(C)Do not be afraid.”

^17 (A)When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. But ^(B)he laid his right hand on me, ^(C)saying, “Fear not, ^(D)I am the first and the last,

⁵ And as they were ^(A)frightened and bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead?

¹¹ And there appeared to him an angel of the Lord standing on the right side of ^(A)the altar of incense. ¹² And Zechariah was troubled when he saw him, and ^(B)fear fell upon him.

¹⁵ They said to her, “You are out of your mind.” But she kept insisting that it was so, and they kept saying, “It is ^(A)his angel!”

⁴⁵ Then ^(A)he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures,

⁶ His body was like ^(A)beryl, his face ^(B)like the appearance of lightning, ^(C)his eyes like flaming torches, his arms and ^(D)legs like the gleam of burnished bronze, and ^(E)the sound of his words like the sound of a multitude. ^7 (F)And I, Daniel, alone saw the vision, for the men who were with me did not see the vision, but a great trembling fell upon them, and they fled to hide themselves. ⁸ So I was left alone and saw this great vision, and ^(G)no strength was left in me. My radiant appearance was fearfully changed,^{[a] (H)}and I retained no strength. ⁹ Then I heard the sound of his words, ^(I)and as I heard the sound of his words, I fell on my face in deep sleep ^(J)with my face to the ground.
