²¹ yet he has no root in himself, but ^(A)endures for a while, and when tribulation or persecution arises on account of the word, immediately ^(B)he falls away.^[a]

⁸ For if these qualities^[a] are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or ^(A)unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. ⁹ For whoever lacks these qualities is so nearsighted that he ^(B)is blind, having forgotten that he was ^(C)cleansed from his former sins.

⁶ And blessed is the one who ^(A)is not offended by me.”

^17 (A)so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being ^(B)rooted and ^(C)grounded in love,

⁵ I am the vine; ^(A)you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that ^(B)bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. ⁶ If anyone does not abide in me ^(C)he is thrown away like a branch and withers; ^(D)and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned. ⁷ If ^(E)you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ^(F)ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.

¹³ “‘I know where you dwell, ^(A)where Satan's throne is. Yet you hold fast my name, and you did not ^(B)deny my faith^[a] even in the days of Antipas ^(C)my faithful witness, who was killed among you, where Satan dwells.

^19 (A)They went out from us, but they were not of us; for ^(B)if they had been of us, they would have continued with us. But they went out, ^(C)that it might become plain that they all are not of us. ²⁰ But you have been ^(D)anointed by ^(E)the Holy One, and ^(F)you all have knowledge.^[a]

⁵ who by God's power are being guarded ^(A)through faith for a salvation ^(B)ready to be revealed in the last time.
