¹⁶ But ^(A)blessed are your eyes for they see, and your ears for they hear;

²³ Then He turned to His disciples and said privately, ^(A)“Blessed are the eyes which see the things you see; ²⁴ for I tell you ^(B)that many prophets and kings have desired to see what you see, and have not seen it, and to hear what you hear, and have not heard it.”

¹⁷ that ^(A)the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, ^(B)may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, ^18 (C)the eyes of your ^[a]understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is ^(D)the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,

¹⁷ Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, ^(A)for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but ^(B)My Father who is in heaven.

²⁹ Jesus said to him, ^[a]“Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. ^(A)Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

⁶ For it is the God ^(A)who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has ^(B)shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

^11 (K)Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of ^(L)evil against you falsely for My sake.

^18 (A)to open their eyes, in order ^(B)to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, ^(C)that they may receive forgiveness of sins and ^(D)an inheritance among those who are ^(E)sanctified^[a] by faith in Me.’
