¹⁶ But ^(A)blessed are your eyes, for they see, and your ears, for they hear.

²³ Then turning to the disciples he said privately, ^(A)“Blessed are the eyes that see what you see! ²⁴ For I tell you ^(B)that many prophets and kings desired to see what you see, and did not see it, and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it.”

¹⁷ that ^(A)the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, ^(B)may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, ^18 (C)having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is ^(D)the hope to which he has called you, what are ^(E)the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints,

¹⁷ And Jesus answered him, ^(A)“Blessed are you, ^(B)Simon Bar-Jonah! For ^(C)flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, ^(D)but my Father who is in heaven.

²⁹ Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me? ^(A)Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

⁶ For God, who said, ^(A)“Let light shine out of darkness,” ^(B)has shone in our hearts to give ^(C)the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

^3 (A)“Blessed are ^(B)the poor in spirit, for ^(C)theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

⁴ “Blessed are ^(D)those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.

⁵ “Blessed are the ^(E)meek, for they ^(F)shall inherit the earth.

⁶ “Blessed are those who hunger and ^(G)thirst ^(H)for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.

⁷ “Blessed are ^(I)the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.

⁸ “Blessed are ^(J)the pure in heart, for ^(K)they shall see God.

⁹ “Blessed are ^(L)the peacemakers, for ^(M)they shall be called ^(N)sons^[a] of God.

^10 (O)“Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for ^(P)theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

^11 (Q)“Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely ^(R)on my account.

^18 (A)to open their eyes, so that they may turn from darkness to light and from ^(B)the power of Satan to God, that they may receive ^(C)forgiveness of sins and ^(D)a place among those who are sanctified ^(E)by faith in me.’
