²⁹ Take My yoke upon you ^(A)and learn from Me, for I am ^[a]gentle and ^(B)lowly in heart, ^(C)and you will find rest for your souls.

¹⁶ Thus says the Lord:

^6 (A)He who says he abides in Him ^(B)ought himself also to walk just as He walked.

^7 (A)but ^[a]made Himself of no reputation, taking the form ^(B)of a bondservant, and ^(C)coming in the likeness of men. ⁸ And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and ^(D)became ^(E)obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.

¹⁵ For ^(A)I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you.

Build on the Rock^(A)

^46 (B)“But why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do the things which I say? ^47 (C)Whoever comes to Me, and hears My sayings and does them, I will show you whom he is like: ⁴⁸ He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently against that house, and could not shake it, for it was ^[a]founded on the rock.

^10 (A)If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.

¹¹ “These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and ^(B)that your joy may be full. ^12 (C)This is My ^(D)commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. ^13 (E)Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. ^14 (F)You are My friends if you do whatever I command you.

²¹ For ^(A)to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for ^[a]us, ^(B)leaving ^[b]us an example, that you should follow His steps:

^23 (D)who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but ^(E)committed Himself to Him who judges righteously;

The Spiritual War

10 Now ^(A)I, Paul, myself am pleading with you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ—^(B)who in presence am lowly among you, but being absent am bold toward you.
