⁸ Heal the sick, ^[a]cleanse the lepers, ^[b]raise the dead, cast out demons. ^(A)Freely you have received, freely give.

⁶ Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: ^(A)In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.”

³⁰ by stretching out Your hand to heal, ^(A)and that signs and wonders may be done ^(B)through the name of ^(C)Your holy Servant Jesus.”

^9 (A)And heal the sick there, and say to them, ^(B)‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’

The Twelve Apostles^(A)

10 And ^(B)when He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease.

³³ I have coveted no one’s silver or gold or apparel. ^34 [a]Yes, you yourselves know ^(A)that these hands have provided for my necessities, and for those who were with me. ³⁵ I have shown you in every way, ^(B)by laboring like this, that you must support the weak. And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ ”

^18 (A)they^[a] will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; ^(B)they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

¹⁸ And when Simon saw that through the laying on of the apostles’ hands the Holy Spirit was given, he offered them money, ¹⁹ saying, “Give me this power also, that anyone on whom I lay hands may receive the Holy Spirit.”

²⁰ But Peter said to him, “Your money perish with you, because ^(A)you thought that ^(B)the gift of God could be purchased with money! ²¹ You have neither part nor portion in this matter, for your ^(C)heart is not right in the sight of God. ²² Repent therefore of this your wickedness, and pray God ^(D)if perhaps the thought of your heart may be forgiven you. ²³ For I see that you are ^(E)poisoned by bitterness and bound by iniquity.”

Continuing Power in the Church

¹² And ^(A)through the hands of the apostles many signs and wonders were done among the people. ^(B)And they were all with one accord in Solomon’s Porch. ¹³ Yet ^(C)none of the rest dared join them, ^(D)but the people esteemed them highly. ¹⁴ And believers were increasingly added to the Lord, multitudes of both men and women, ¹⁵ so that they brought the sick out into the streets and laid them on beds and couches, ^(E)that at least the shadow of Peter passing by might fall on some of them.
