¹⁹ When they hand you over, do not worry about how you are to speak or what you are to say, for what you are to say will be given to you at that time,

¹² Now go, and I will be with your mouth and teach you what you are to speak.”^(A)

¹¹ When they bring you to trial and hand you over, do not worry beforehand about what you are to say, but say whatever is given you at that time, for it is not you who speak but the Holy Spirit.^{(A) 12} Sibling will betray sibling to death and a father his child, and children will rise against parents and have them put to death,^{(B) 13} and you will be hated by all because of my name. But the one who endures to the end will be saved.^(C)

¹⁷ But the Lord stood by me and gave me strength, so that through me the message might be fully proclaimed and all the gentiles might hear it. So I was rescued from the lion’s mouth.^(A)

¹¹ When they bring you before the synagogues, the rulers, and the authorities, do not worry about how or what^[a] you will answer or what you are to say,^(A)

¹⁶ Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego answered the king, “O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to present a defense to you in this matter. ¹⁷ If our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the furnace of blazing fire and out of your hand, O king, let him deliver us.^{[a] 18} But if not, be it known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods and we will not worship the golden statue that you have set up.”

¹⁵ You shall speak to him and put the words in his mouth, and I will be with your mouth and with his mouth and will teach you what you shall do.^(A)

¹² “But before all this occurs, they will arrest you and persecute you; they will hand you over to synagogues and prisons, and you will be brought before kings and governors because of my name.^{(A) 13} This will give you an opportunity to testify.^{(B) 14} So make up your minds not to prepare your defense in advance,^{(C) 15} for I will give you words^[a] and a wisdom that none of your opponents will be able to withstand or contradict.^{(D) 16} You will be betrayed even by parents and siblings, by relatives and friends, and they will put some of you to death.^{(E) 17} You will be hated by all because of my name.^(F)

³¹ Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear?’

²⁵ “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink,^[a] or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?^(A)
