¹⁵ Assuredly, I say to you, ^(A)it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city!

⁶ and turning the cities of ^(A)Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes, condemned them to destruction, making them an example to those who afterward would live ungodly;

The Consummation of Love

¹⁷ Love has been perfected among us in this: that ^(A)we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world.

^22 (A)If I had not come and spoken to them, they would have no sin, ^(B)but now they have no excuse for their sin. ^23 (C)He who hates Me hates My Father also. ²⁴ If I had not done among them ^(D)the works which no one else did, they would have no sin; but now they have ^(E)seen and also hated both Me and My Father.

⁷ But ^(A)the heavens and the earth which are now preserved by the same word, are reserved for ^(B)fire until the day of judgment and ^[a]perdition of ungodly men.

⁹ then ^(A)the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations and to reserve the unjust under punishment for the day of judgment,

^11 (A)‘The very dust of your city which clings to ^[a]us we wipe off against you. Nevertheless know this, that the kingdom of God has come near you.’ ^12 [b]But I say to you that ^(B)it will be more tolerable in that Day for Sodom than for that city.

^11 (A)And ^[a]whoever will not receive you nor hear you, when you depart from there, ^(B)shake off the dust under your feet as a testimony against them. ^[b]Assuredly, I say to you, it will be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city!”

²² But I say to you, ^(A)it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the day of judgment than for you. ²³ And you, Capernaum, ^(B)who^[a] are exalted to heaven, will be brought down to Hades; for if the mighty works which were done in you had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day. ²⁴ But I say to you ^(C)that it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment than for you.”
