¹⁵ Truly I tell you, it will be more bearable for Sodom and Gomorrah^(A) on the day of judgment^(B) than for that town.^(C)

⁶ if he condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah by burning them to ashes,^(A) and made them an example^(B) of what is going to happen to the ungodly;^(C)

¹⁷ This is how love is made complete^(A) among us so that we will have confidence^(B) on the day of judgment:^(C) In this world we are like Jesus.

²² If I had not come and spoken to them,^(A) they would not be guilty of sin; but now they have no excuse for their sin.^{(B) 23} Whoever hates me hates my Father as well. ²⁴ If I had not done among them the works no one else did,^(C) they would not be guilty of sin.^(D) As it is, they have seen, and yet they have hated both me and my Father.

⁷ By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire,^(A) being kept for the day of judgment^(B) and destruction of the ungodly.

⁹ if this is so, then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials^(A) and to hold the unrighteous for punishment on the day of judgment.^(B)

¹¹ ‘Even the dust of your town we wipe from our feet as a warning to you.^(A) Yet be sure of this: The kingdom of God has come near.’^{(B) 12} I tell you, it will be more bearable on that day for Sodom^(C) than for that town.^(D)

¹¹ And if any place will not welcome you or listen to you, leave that place and shake the dust off your feet^(A) as a testimony against them.”

²² But I tell you, it will be more bearable for Tyre and Sidon on the day of judgment than for you.^{(A) 23} And you, Capernaum,^(B) will you be lifted to the heavens? No, you will go down to Hades.^[a](C) For if the miracles that were performed in you had been performed in Sodom, it would have remained to this day. ²⁴ But I tell you that it will be more bearable for Sodom on the day of judgment than for you.”^(D)
