¹⁵ Truly, I say to you, ^(A)it will be more bearable on the day of judgment for ^(B)the land of Sodom and Gomorrah than for that town.

¹⁷ By this ^(A)is love perfected with us, so that ^(B)we may have confidence for the day of judgment, because ^(C)as he is so also are we in this world.

⁹ then ^(A)the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials,^[a] and to keep the unrighteous under punishment until the day of judgment,

³⁶ I tell you, ^(A)on the day of judgment ^(B)people will give account for ^(C)every careless word they speak,

⁷ But by the same word ^(A)the heavens and earth that now exist are stored up for fire, being kept until the day of judgment and ^(B)destruction of the ungodly.

⁶ if by ^(A)turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to ashes he condemned them to extinction, ^(B)making them an example of ^(C)what is going to happen to the ungodly;^[a]

²² If I had not come and spoken to them, ^(A)they would not have been guilty of sin,^[a] but now they have no excuse for their sin. ^23 (B)Whoever hates me hates my Father also. ^24 (C)If I had not done among them the works that no one else did, ^(D)they would not be guilty of sin, but now they have ^(E)seen and hated both me and my Father.

^11 (A)‘Even the dust of your town that clings to our feet we wipe off against you. Nevertheless know this, that ^(B)the kingdom of God has come near.’ ¹² I tell you, ^(C)it will be more bearable on ^(D)that day for Sodom than for that town.

^22 (A)But I tell you, it will be more bearable on ^(B)the day of judgment for ^(C)Tyre and Sidon than for you. ²³ And you, ^(D)Capernaum, will you be exalted to heaven? You will be brought down to ^(E)Hades. For if the mighty works done in you had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day. ^24 (F)But I tell you that ^(G)it will be more tolerable on ^(H)the day of judgment for the land of Sodom than for you.”
