¹² And after the deportation to Babylon: ^(A)Jechoniah was the father of ^(B)Shealtiel,^[a] and ^(C)Shealtiel the father of Zerubbabel,

¹⁷ and the sons of Jeconiah, the ^(A)captive: ^(B)Shealtiel his son,

² Then arose Jeshua the son of Jozadak, with his fellow priests, and ^(A)Zerubbabel the son of ^(B)Shealtiel with his kinsmen, and they built the altar of the God of Israel, to offer burnt offerings on it, ^(C)as it is written in the Law of Moses the ^(D)man of God.

²⁷ the son of Joanan, the son of Rhesa, ^(A)the son of Zerubbabel, the son ^(B)of Shealtiel,^[a] the son of Neri,

¹⁴ And ^(A)the Lord stirred up the spirit of ^(B)Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of ^(C)Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and the spirit of all ^(D)the remnant of the people. And they came and ^(E)worked on the house of the Lord of hosts, their God,

¹⁹ and the sons of Pedaiah: ^(A)Zerubbabel and Shimei; and the sons of ^(B)Zerubbabel: Meshullam and Hananiah, and Shelomith was their sister; ²⁰ and Hashubah, Ohel, Berechiah, Hasadiah, and Jushab-hesed, five. ²¹ The sons of Hananiah: Pelatiah and Jeshaiah, his son^[a] Rephaiah, his son Arnan, his son Obadiah, his son Shecaniah. ²² The son^[b] of Shecaniah: ^(C)Shemaiah. And the sons of Shemaiah: ^(D)Hattush, Igal, Bariah, Neariah, and Shaphat, six. ²³ The sons of Neariah: Elioenai, Hizkiah, and Azrikam, three. ²⁴ The sons of Elioenai: Hodaviah, Eliashib, Pelaiah, Akkub, Johanan, Delaiah, and Anani, seven.

²³ On that day, declares the Lord of hosts, I will take you, O ^(A)Zerubbabel ^(B)my servant, the son of ^(C)Shealtiel, declares the Lord, and make you ^(D)like a^[a] signet ring, ^(E)for I have chosen you, declares the Lord of hosts.”

² “Speak now to ^(A)Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to ^(B)Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and to all the remnant of the people, and say,

The People Obey the Lord

^12 (A)Then ^(B)Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and ^(C)Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, with all ^(D)the remnant of the people, obeyed the voice of the Lord their God, and the words of Haggai the prophet, as the Lord their God had sent him. And the people feared the Lord.
