²⁷ Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life^[a]?^(A)

²⁵ Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life^[a]? ²⁶ Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?

¹⁴ I know that everything God does will endure forever; nothing can be added to it and nothing taken from it. God does it so that people will fear him.^(A)

³⁶ And do not swear by your head, for you cannot make even one hair white or black.

¹⁸ But in fact God has placed^(A) the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be.^(B)
