The Great Commission

¹⁶ Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go.^{(A) 17} When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. ¹⁸ Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.^{(B) 19} Therefore go and make disciples of all nations,^(C) baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,^{(D) 20} and teaching^(E) them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you^(F) always, to the very end of the age.”^(G)

¹⁰ For if, while we were God’s enemies,^(A) we were reconciled^(B) to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!^(C)

¹⁰ We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus,^(A) so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.^{(B) 11} For we who are alive are always being given over to death for Jesus’ sake,^(C) so that his life may also be revealed in our mortal body. ¹² So then, death is at work in us, but life is at work in you.^(D)

¹³ It is written: “I believed; therefore I have spoken.”^[a](E) Since we have that same spirit of^[b] faith,^(F) we also believe and therefore speak, ¹⁴ because we know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead^(G) will also raise us with Jesus^(H) and present us with you to himself.^{(I) 15} All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving^(J) to overflow to the glory of God.

¹⁶ Therefore we do not lose heart.^(K) Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly^(L) we are being renewed^(M) day by day. ¹⁷ For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.^{(N) 18} So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen,^(O) since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

²⁰ I have been crucified with Christ^(A) and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.^(B) The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God,^(C) who loved me^(D) and gave himself for me.^(E)

¹⁰ I want to know^(A) Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings,^(B) becoming like him in his death,^(C)
