⁷ they brought the donkey and the colt and put their cloaks on them, and he sat on them.

⁴ They went away and found a colt tied near a door, outside in the street. As they were untying it,^{(A) 5} some of the bystanders said to them, “What are you doing, untying the colt?” ⁶ They told them what Jesus had said, and they allowed them to take it. ⁷ Then they brought the colt to Jesus and threw their cloaks on it, and he sat on it. ⁸ Many people spread their cloaks on the road, and others spread leafy branches that they had cut in the fields.

¹³ Then hurriedly they all took their cloaks and spread them for him on the bare^[a] steps, and they blew the trumpet and proclaimed, “Jehu is king.”^(A)

³² So those who were sent departed and found it as he had told them.^{(A) 33} As they were untying the colt, its owners asked them, “Why are you untying the colt?” ³⁴ They said, “The Lord needs it.” ³⁵ Then they brought it to Jesus, and after throwing their cloaks on the colt, they set Jesus on it.
