⁷ They brought the donkey and the colt and placed their cloaks on them for Jesus to sit on.

⁴ They went and found a colt outside in the street, tied at a doorway.^(A) As they untied it, ⁵ some people standing there asked, “What are you doing, untying that colt?” ⁶ They answered as Jesus had told them to, and the people let them go. ⁷ When they brought the colt to Jesus and threw their cloaks over it, he sat on it. ⁸ Many people spread their cloaks on the road, while others spread branches they had cut in the fields.

¹³ They quickly took their cloaks and spread^(A) them under him on the bare steps. Then they blew the trumpet^(B) and shouted, “Jehu is king!”

³² Those who were sent ahead went and found it just as he had told them.^{(A) 33} As they were untying the colt, its owners asked them, “Why are you untying the colt?”

³⁴ They replied, “The Lord needs it.”

³⁵ They brought it to Jesus, threw their cloaks on the colt and put Jesus on it.
