¹³ And if he finds it, truly, I say to you, he rejoices over it more than over the ninety-nine that never went astray.

¹³ For ^(A)judgment is without mercy to one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.

³⁴ Jesus said to them, ^(A)“My food is ^(B)to do the will of him who sent me and ^(C)to accomplish his work. ³⁵ Do you not say, ‘There are yet four months, then comes the harvest’? Look, I tell you, lift up your eyes, and see that ^(D)the fields are white for harvest. ³⁶ Already the one who reaps is receiving wages and gathering fruit for eternal life, so that ^(E)sower and ^(F)reaper ^(G)may rejoice together.

⁵ And when he has found it, ^(A)he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. ⁶ And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and his neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for ^(B)I have found my sheep that was lost.’ ⁷ Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who ^(C)repents than over ninety-nine ^(D)righteous persons who need no repentance.

The Parable of the Lost Coin

⁸ “Or what woman, having ten silver coins,^[a] if she loses one coin, does not light a lamp and sweep the house and seek diligently until she finds it? ⁹ And when she has found it, she calls together her friends and neighbors, saying, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found the coin that I had lost.’ ¹⁰ Just so, I tell you, there is joy before ^(E)the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”
