¹⁸ And I tell you, ^(A)you are Peter, and ^(B)on this rock^[a] I will build my church, and ^(C)the gates of ^(D)hell^[b] shall not prevail against it.

¹⁹ So then you are no longer ^(A)strangers and aliens,^[a] but you are ^(B)fellow citizens with the saints and ^(C)members of the household of God, ^20 (D)built on the foundation of the ^(E)apostles and prophets, ^(F)Christ Jesus himself being ^(G)the cornerstone, ^21 (H)in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into ^(I)a holy temple in the Lord. ²² In him ^(J)you also are being built together ^(K)into a dwelling place for God by^[b] the Spirit.

⁹ For we are ^(A)God's fellow workers. You are God's field, ^(B)God's building.

^10 (C)According to the grace of God given to me, like a skilled^[a] master builder I laid a ^(D)foundation, and ^(E)someone else is building upon it. Let each one take care how he builds upon it. ¹¹ For no one can lay a ^(F)foundation other ^(G)than that which is laid, ^(H)which is Jesus Christ.

¹⁸ And ^(A)he is the head of the body, the church. He is ^(B)the beginning, ^(C)the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent.
