The Disciples’ Eyes Opened

28 Then they drew near to the village where they were going, and (A)He [a]indicated that He would have gone farther. 29 But (B)they constrained Him, saying, (C)“Abide with us, for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent.” And He went in to stay with them.

30 Now it came to pass, as (D)He sat at the table with them, that He took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to them. 31 Then their eyes were opened and they knew Him; and He vanished from their sight.

Christ Is Preached to an Ethiopian(A)

26 Now an angel of the Lord spoke to (B)Philip, saying, “Arise and go toward the south along the road which goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza.” This is [a]desert. 27 So he arose and went. And as a lamb before its shearer is silent,
(F)So He opened not His mouth.
33 In His humiliation His (G)justice was taken away,
And who will declare His generation?
For His life is (H)taken from the earth.”

34 So the eunuch answered Philip and said, “I ask you, of whom does the prophet say this, of himself or of some other man?” 35 Then Philip opened his mouth, (I)and beginning at this Scripture, preached Jesus to him.
