A Cura de um Leproso(A)
8 Quando ele desceu do monte, grandes multidões o seguiram. 2 Um leproso[a], aproximando-se, adorou-o de joelhos e disse: “Senhor, se quiseres, podes purificar-me!”
3 Jesus estendeu a mão, tocou nele e disse: “Quero. Seja purificado!” Imediatamente ele foi purificado da lepra. 4 Em seguida Jesus lhe disse: “Olhe, não conte isso a ninguém. Mas vá mostrar-se ao sacerdote e apresente a oferta que Moisés ordenou, para que sirva de testemunho”.
Um Centurião Demonstra Fé(B)
5 Entrando Jesus em Cafarnaum, dirigiu-se a ele um centurião, pedindo-lhe ajuda. 6 E disse: “Senhor, meu servo está em casa, paralítico, em terrível sofrimento”.
7 Jesus lhe disse: “Eu irei curá-lo”.
8 Respondeu o centurião: “Senhor, não mereço receber-te debaixo do meu teto. Mas dize apenas uma palavra, e o meu servo será curado. 9 Pois eu também sou homem sujeito à autoridade e com soldados sob o meu comando. Digo a um: Vá, e ele vai; e a outro: Venha, e ele vem. Digo a meu servo: Faça isto, e ele faz”.
10 Ao ouvir isso, Jesus admirou-se e disse aos que o seguiam: “Digo-lhes a verdade: Não encontrei em Israel ninguém com tamanha fé. 11 Eu lhes digo que muitos virão do oriente e do ocidente, e se sentarão à mesa com Abraão, Isaque e Jacó no Reino dos céus. 12 Mas os súditos do Reino serão lançados para fora, nas trevas, onde haverá choro e ranger de dentes”.
13 Então Jesus disse ao centurião: “Vá! Como você creu, assim lhe acontecerá!” Na mesma hora o seu servo foi curado.
O Poder de Jesus sobre os Demônios e as Doenças(C)
14 Entrando Jesus na casa de Pedro, viu a sogra deste de cama, com febre. 15 Tomando-a pela mão, a febre a deixou, e ela se levantou e começou a servi-lo.
16 Ao anoitecer foram trazidos a ele muitos endemoninhados, e ele expulsou os espíritos com uma palavra e curou todos os doentes. 17 E assim se cumpriu o que fora dito pelo profeta Isaías:
“Ele tomou sobre si as nossas enfermidades
e sobre si levou as nossas doenças”[b].
Quão Difícil é Seguir Jesus!(D)
18 Quando Jesus viu a multidão ao seu redor, deu ordens para que atravessassem para o outro lado do mar. 19 Então, um mestre da lei aproximou-se e disse: “Mestre, eu te seguirei por onde quer que fores”.
20 Jesus respondeu: “As raposas têm suas tocas e as aves do céu têm seus ninhos, mas o Filho do homem não tem onde repousar a cabeça”.
21 Outro discípulo lhe disse: “Senhor, deixa-me ir primeiro sepultar meu pai”.
22 Mas Jesus lhe disse: “Siga-me, e deixe que os mortos sepultem os seus próprios mortos”.
Jesus Acalma a Tempestade(E)
23 Entrando ele no barco, seus discípulos o seguiram. 24 De repente, uma violenta tempestade abateu-se sobre o mar, de forma que as ondas inundavam o barco. Jesus, porém, dormia. 25 Os discípulos foram acordá-lo, clamando: “Senhor, salva-nos! Vamos morrer!”
26 Ele perguntou: “Por que vocês estão com tanto medo, homens de pequena fé?” Então ele se levantou e repreendeu os ventos e o mar, e fez-se completa bonança. 27 Os homens ficaram perplexos e perguntaram: “Quem é este que até os ventos e o mar lhe obedecem?”
A Cura de Dois Endemoninhados(F)
28 Quando ele chegou ao outro lado, à região dos gadarenos[c], foram ao seu encontro dois endemoninhados, que vinham dos sepulcros. Eles eram tão violentos que ninguém podia passar por aquele caminho. 29 Então eles gritaram: “Que queres conosco, Filho de Deus? Vieste aqui para nos atormentar antes do devido tempo?”
30 A certa distância deles estava pastando uma grande manada de porcos. 31 Os demônios imploravam a Jesus: “Se nos expulsas, manda-nos entrar naquela manada de porcos”.
32 Ele lhes disse: “Vão!” Eles saíram e entraram nos porcos, e toda a manada atirou-se precipício abaixo, em direção ao mar, e morreu afogada. 33 Os que cuidavam dos porcos fugiram, foram à cidade e contaram tudo, inclusive o que acontecera aos endemoninhados. 34 Toda a cidade saiu ao encontro de Jesus, e, quando o viram, suplicaram-lhe que saísse do território deles.

A man with a skin disease
8 Now when Jesus had come down from the mountain, large crowds followed him. 2 A man with a skin disease came, kneeled before him, and said, “Lord, if you want, you can make me clean.”
3 Jesus reached out his hand and touched him, saying, “I do want to. Become clean.” Instantly his skin disease was cleansed. 4 Jesus said to him, “Don’t say anything to anyone. Instead, go and show yourself to the priest and offer the gift that Moses commanded. This will be a testimony to them.”
Healing of the centurion’s servant
5 When Jesus went to Capernaum, a centurion approached, 6 pleading with him, “Lord, my servant is flat on his back at home, paralyzed, and his suffering is awful.”
7 Jesus responded, “I’ll come and heal him.”
8 But the centurion replied, “Lord, I don’t deserve to have you come under my roof. Just say the word and my servant will be healed. 9 I’m a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I say to one, ‘Go,’ and he goes, and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes. I say to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and the servant does it.”
10 When Jesus heard this, he was impressed and said to the people following him, “I say to you with all seriousness that even in Israel I haven’t found faith like this. 11 I say to you that there are many who will come from east and west and sit down to eat with Abraham and Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven. 12 But the children of the kingdom will be thrown outside into the darkness. People there will be weeping and grinding their teeth.” 13 Jesus said to the centurion, “Go; it will be done for you just as you have believed.” And his servant was healed that very moment.
Healing of many people
14 Jesus went home with Peter and saw Peter’s mother-in-law lying in bed with a fever. 15 He touched her hand, and the fever left her. Then she got up and served them. 16 That evening people brought to Jesus many who were demon-possessed. He threw the spirits out with just a word. He healed everyone who was sick. 17 This happened so that what Isaiah the prophet said would be fulfilled: He is the one who took our illnesses and carried away our diseases.[a]

18 Now when Jesus saw the crowd, he ordered his disciples to go over to the other side of the lake. 19 A legal expert came and said to him, “Teacher, I’ll follow you wherever you go.”
20 Jesus replied, “Foxes have dens, and the birds in the sky have nests, but the Human One[b] has no place to lay his head.”
21 Another man, one of his disciples, said to him, “Lord, first let me go and bury my father.”
22 But Jesus said to him, “Follow me, and let the dead bury their own dead.”
Calming a storm
23 When Jesus got into a boat, his disciples followed him. 24 A huge storm arose on the lake so that waves were sloshing over the boat. But Jesus was asleep. 25 They came and woke him, saying, “Lord, rescue us! We’re going to drown!”
26 He said to them, “Why are you afraid, you people of weak faith?” Then he got up and gave orders to the winds and the lake, and there was a great calm.
27 The people were amazed and said, “What kind of person is this? Even the winds and the lake obey him!”
Jesus frees demon-possessed men
28 When Jesus arrived on the other side of the lake in the country of the Gadarenes, two men who were demon-possessed came from among the tombs to meet him. They were so violent that nobody could travel on that road. 29 They cried out, “What are you going to do with us, Son of God? Have you come to torture us before the time of judgment?” 30 Far off in the distance a large herd of pigs was feeding. 31 The demons pleaded with him, “If you throw us out, send us into the herd of pigs.”
32 Then he said to the demons, “Go away,” and they came out and went into the pigs. The whole herd rushed down the cliff into the lake and drowned. 33 Those who tended the pigs ran into the city and told everything that had happened to the demon-possessed men. 34 Then the whole city came out and met Jesus. When they saw him, they pleaded with him to leave their region.
