O Sermão do Monte (Caps. 5—7)
5 Quando Jesus viu aquelas multidões, subiu um monte e sentou-se. Os seus discípulos chegaram perto dele, 2 e ele começou a ensiná-los.
A verdadeira felicidade(A)
Jesus disse:
3 — Felizes as pessoas que sabem que são
espiritualmente pobres,
pois o Reino do Céu é delas.
4 — Felizes as pessoas que choram,
pois Deus as consolará.
5 — Felizes as pessoas humildes,
pois receberão o que Deus
tem prometido.
6 — Felizes as pessoas que têm fome e sede
de fazer a vontade de Deus,
pois ele as deixará
completamente satisfeitas.
7 — Felizes as pessoas que têm misericórdia
dos outros,
pois Deus terá misericórdia delas.
8 — Felizes as pessoas que têm o coração puro,
pois elas verão a Deus.
9 — Felizes as pessoas que trabalham pela paz,
pois Deus as tratará como seus filhos.
10 — Felizes as pessoas que sofrem perseguições
por fazerem a vontade de Deus,
pois o Reino do Céu é delas.
11 — Felizes são vocês quando os insultam, perseguem e dizem todo tipo de calúnia contra vocês por serem meus seguidores. 12 Fiquem alegres e felizes, pois uma grande recompensa está guardada no céu para vocês. Porque foi assim mesmo que perseguiram os profetas que viveram antes de vocês.
O sal e a luz(B)
13 — Vocês são o sal para a humanidade; mas, se o sal perde o gosto, deixa de ser sal e não serve para mais nada. É jogado fora e pisado pelas pessoas que passam.
14 — Vocês são a luz para o mundo. Não se pode esconder uma cidade construída sobre um monte. 15 Ninguém acende uma lamparina para colocá-la debaixo de um cesto. Pelo contrário, ela é colocada no lugar próprio para que ilumine todos os que estão na casa. 16 Assim também a luz de vocês deve brilhar para que os outros vejam as coisas boas que vocês fazem e louvem o Pai de vocês, que está no céu.
A Lei de Moisés
17 — Não pensem que eu vim para acabar com a Lei de Moisés ou com os ensinamentos dos Profetas. Não vim para acabar com eles, mas para dar o seu sentido completo. 18 Eu afirmo a vocês que isto é verdade: enquanto o céu e a terra durarem, nada será tirado da Lei — nem a menor letra, nem qualquer acento. E assim será até o fim de todas as coisas. 19 Portanto, qualquer um que desobedecer ao menor mandamento e ensinar os outros a fazerem o mesmo será considerado o menor no Reino do Céu. Por outro lado, quem obedecer à Lei e ensinar os outros a fazerem o mesmo será considerado grande no Reino do Céu. 20 Pois eu afirmo a vocês que só entrarão no Reino do Céu se forem mais fiéis em fazer a vontade de Deus do que os mestres da Lei e os fariseus.
O ódio
21 — Vocês ouviram o que foi dito aos seus antepassados: “Não mate. Quem matar será julgado.” 22 Mas eu lhes digo que qualquer um que ficar com raiva do seu irmão será julgado. Quem disser ao seu irmão: “Você não vale nada” será julgado pelo tribunal. E quem chamar o seu irmão de idiota estará em perigo de ir para o fogo do inferno. 23 Portanto, se você estiver oferecendo no altar a sua oferta a Deus e lembrar que o seu irmão tem alguma queixa contra você, 24 deixe a sua oferta ali, na frente do altar, e vá logo fazer as pazes com o seu irmão. Depois volte e ofereça a sua oferta a Deus.
25 — Se alguém fizer uma acusação contra você e levá-lo ao tribunal, entre em acordo com essa pessoa enquanto ainda é tempo, antes de chegarem lá. Porque, depois de chegarem ao tribunal, você será entregue ao juiz, o juiz o entregará ao carcereiro, e você será jogado na cadeia. 26 Eu afirmo a você que isto é verdade: você não sairá dali enquanto não pagar a multa toda.
O adultério
27 — Vocês ouviram o que foi dito: “Não cometa adultério.” 28 Mas eu lhes digo: quem olhar para uma mulher e desejar possuí-la já cometeu adultério no seu coração. 29 Portanto, se o seu olho direito faz com que você peque, arranque-o e jogue-o fora. Pois é melhor perder uma parte do seu corpo do que o corpo inteiro ser atirado no inferno. 30 Se a sua mão direita faz com que você peque, corte-a e jogue-a fora. Pois é melhor perder uma parte do seu corpo do que o corpo inteiro ir para o inferno.
O divórcio(C)
31 — Foi dito também: “Quem mandar a sua esposa embora deverá dar a ela um documento de divórcio.” 32 Mas eu lhes digo: todo homem que mandar a sua esposa embora, a não ser em caso de adultério, será culpado de fazer com que ela se torne adúltera, se ela casar de novo. E o homem que casar com ela também cometerá adultério.
Os juramentos
33 — Vocês ouviram o que foi dito aos seus antepassados: “Não quebre a sua promessa, mas cumpra o que você jurou ao Senhor que ia fazer.” 34 Mas eu lhes digo: não jurem de jeito nenhum. Não jurem pelo céu, pois é o trono de Deus; 35 nem pela terra, pois é o estrado onde ele descansa os seus pés; nem por Jerusalém, pois é a cidade do grande Rei. 36 Não jurem nem mesmo pela sua cabeça, pois vocês não podem fazer com que um só fio dos seus cabelos fique branco ou preto. 37 Que o “sim” de vocês seja sim, e o “não”, não, pois qualquer coisa a mais que disserem vem do Maligno.
A vingança(D)
38 — Vocês ouviram o que foi dito: “Olho por olho, dente por dente.” 39 Mas eu lhes digo: não se vinguem dos que fazem mal a vocês. Se alguém lhe der um tapa na cara, vire o outro lado para ele bater também. 40 Se alguém processar você para tomar a sua túnica, deixe que leve também a capa. 41 Se um dos soldados estrangeiros forçá-lo a carregar uma carga um quilômetro, carregue-a dois quilômetros. 42 Se alguém lhe pedir alguma coisa, dê; e, se alguém lhe pedir emprestado, empreste.
Amar os inimigos(E)
43 — Vocês ouviram o que foi dito: “Ame os seus amigos e odeie os seus inimigos.” 44 Mas eu lhes digo: amem os seus inimigos e orem pelos que perseguem vocês, 45 para que vocês se tornem filhos do Pai de vocês, que está no céu. Porque ele faz com que o sol brilhe sobre os bons e sobre os maus e dá chuvas tanto para os que fazem o bem como para os que fazem o mal. 46 Se vocês amam somente aqueles que os amam, por que esperam que Deus lhes dê alguma recompensa? Até os cobradores de impostos amam as pessoas que os amam! 47 Se vocês falam somente com os seus amigos, o que é que estão fazendo de mais? Até os pagãos fazem isso! 48 Portanto, sejam perfeitos, assim como é perfeito o Pai de vocês, que está no céu.

5 耶穌看見這些人群，就上了山，剛坐下，門徒便走到祂跟前， 2 祂就開口教導他們，說：
3 「心靈貧窮的人有福了，
因為天國是他們的。
4 哀慟的人有福了，
因為他們必得安慰。
5 謙和的人有福了，
因為他們必承受土地。
6 愛慕公義如饑似渴的人有福了，
因為他們必得飽足。
7 心存憐憫的人有福了，
因為他們必蒙上帝的憐憫。
8 心靈純潔的人有福了，
因為他們必看見上帝。
9 使人和睦的人有福了，
因為他們必被稱為上帝的兒女。
10 為義受迫害的人有福了，
因為天國是他們的。
11 「人們因為我的緣故侮辱、迫害、肆意毀謗你們，你們就有福了。 12 要歡喜快樂，因為你們在天上有很大的獎賞。他們也曾這樣迫害以前的先知。
鹽和光
13 「你們是世上的鹽。如果鹽失去鹹味，怎能使它再變鹹呢？它將毫無用處，只有被丟在外面任人踐踏。 14 你們是世上的光，如同建在山上的城一樣無法隱藏。 15 人點亮了燈，不會把它放在斗底下，而是放在燈臺上，好照亮全家。 16 同樣，你們的光也應當照在人面前，好讓他們看見你們的好行為，便讚美你們天上的父。
成全律法
17 「不要以為我是來廢除律法和先知書，我不是來廢除，乃是來成全。 18 我實在告訴你們，就是到天地都消失了，律法的一點一劃都不會廢除，全都要成就。 19 所以，誰違背這些誡命中最小的一條，並教導別人違背，誰在天國將被稱為最小的。但誰遵守這些誡命，並教導別人遵守，誰在天國將被稱為大的。 20 我告訴你們，除非你們的義勝過律法教師和法利賽人的義，否則斷不能進天國。
論仇恨
21 「你們聽過吩咐古人的話，『不可殺人，殺人的要受審判。』 22 但我告訴你們，凡無緣無故[a]向弟兄發怒的，要受審判；凡罵弟兄是白癡的，要受公會[b]的審判；凡罵弟兄是笨蛋的，難逃地獄的火。
23 「所以，你在祭壇前獻祭的時候，要是想起有弟兄和你有過節， 24 就該把祭物留在祭壇前，先去跟他和好，然後再來獻祭。
25 「趁著你和告你的人還在去法庭的路上，你要趕緊與對方和解。不然，他會把你交給審判官，審判官會把你交給差役關進監牢。 26 我實在告訴你，要是有一分錢沒有還清，你絕不能從那裡出來。
論通姦
27 「你們聽過這樣的話，『不可通姦。』 28 但我告訴你們，凡看見婦女就動淫念的，他在心裡已經犯了通姦罪。 29 如果你的右眼使你犯罪，就把它剜掉！寧可失去身體的一部分，也比整個人下地獄好。 30 如果你的右手使你犯罪，就把它砍掉！寧可失去身體的一部分，也比整個人下地獄好。
論休妻
31 「還有話說，『人若休妻，必須給她休書』。 32 但我告訴你們，除非是妻子不貞，否則，休妻就是使妻子犯通姦罪，娶被休女子的人也犯了通姦罪。
論起誓
33 「你們也聽過吩咐古人的話，『不可違背誓言，總要向主遵守所起的誓。』 34 但我告訴你們，不可起誓。不可指著天起誓，因為天是上帝的寶座。 35 不可指著地起誓，因為地是上帝的腳凳。不可指著聖城耶路撒冷起誓，因為那是大君王的城。 36 也不可指著自己的頭起誓，因為你不能使一根頭髮變黑或變白。 37 你們說話，是就說是，不是就說不是，多說的便是來自那惡者[c]。
論愛仇敵
38 「你們聽過這樣的話，『以眼還眼，以牙還牙。』 39 但我告訴你們，不要跟惡人作對。有人打你的右臉，連左臉也轉過來讓他打。 40 有人想控告你，要奪取你的內衣，連外衣也給他。 41 有人強迫你走一里路，你就跟他走二里路。 42 有求你的，就給他；有向你借的，不可拒絕他。
43 「你們聽過這樣的話，『要愛鄰居，恨仇敵。』 44 但我告訴你們，要愛仇敵，為迫害你們的人禱告。 45 這樣，你們才是天父的孩子。因為祂讓陽光照好人也照壞人，降雨給義人也給惡人。 46 如果你們只愛那些愛你們的人，有什麼值得嘉獎的呢？就是稅吏也會這樣做。 47 如果你們只問候自己的弟兄，有什麼特別呢？就是外族人也會這樣做。 48 所以，你們要純全，正如你們的天父是純全的。

The Sermon on the Mount
5 Seeing the crowds, (A)he went up on the mountain, and when he (B)sat down, his disciples came to him.
The Beatitudes
2 And (C)he opened his mouth and taught them, saying:
3 (D)“Blessed are (E)the poor in spirit, for (F)theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4 “Blessed are (G)those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
5 “Blessed are the (H)meek, for they (I)shall inherit the earth.
6 “Blessed are those who hunger and (J)thirst (K)for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.
7 “Blessed are (L)the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.
8 “Blessed are (M)the pure in heart, for (N)they shall see God.
9 “Blessed are (O)the peacemakers, for (P)they shall be called (Q)sons[a] of God.
10 (R)“Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for (S)theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 (T)“Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely (U)on my account. 12 (V)Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for (W)so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
Salt and Light
13 “You are the salt of the earth, (X)but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people's feet.
14 (Y)“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 (Z)Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, so (AA)that[b] they may see your good works and (AB)give glory to your Father who is in heaven.
Christ Came to Fulfill the Law
17 (AC)“Do not think that I have come to abolish (AD)the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but (AE)to fulfill them. 18 For truly, I say to you, (AF)until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished. 19 (AG)Therefore whoever relaxes (AH)one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least (AI)in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great (AJ)in the kingdom of heaven. 20 For I tell you, unless your righteousness exceeds (AK)that of the scribes and Pharisees, you (AL)will never enter the kingdom of heaven.
Anger
21 (AM)“You have heard that it was said to those of old, (AN)‘You shall not murder; and whoever murders will be liable (AO)to judgment.’ 22 But I say to you that (AP)everyone who is angry with his brother[c] will be liable (AQ)to judgment; whoever insults[d] his brother will be liable to the council; and whoever says, ‘You fool!’ will be liable to (AR)the hell[e] of fire. 23 (AS)So if (AT)you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, 24 leave your gift there before the altar and go. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift. 25 (AU)Come to terms quickly with your accuser while you are going with him to court, lest your accuser hand you over to the judge, and the judge to the guard, and you be put in prison. 26 Truly, I say to you, (AV)you will never get out until you have paid the last penny.[f]
Lust
27 (AW)“You have heard that it was said, (AX)‘You shall not commit adultery.’ 28 But I say to you that (AY)everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart. 29 (AZ)If your right eye (BA)causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away. For it is better that you lose one of your members than that your whole body be thrown into (BB)hell. 30 (BC)And if your right hand (BD)causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. For it is better that you lose one of your members than that your whole body go into (BE)hell.
Divorce
31 (BF)“It was also said, (BG)‘Whoever divorces his wife, let him give her a certificate of divorce.’ 32 (BH)But I say to you that everyone who divorces his wife, except on the ground of sexual immorality, makes her commit adultery, and (BI)whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery.
Oaths
33 “Again (BJ)you have heard that it was said to those of old, (BK)‘You shall not swear falsely, but (BL)shall perform to the Lord what you have sworn.’ 34 But I say to you, (BM)Do not take an oath at all, either by heaven, for (BN)it is the throne of God, 35 or by the earth, for it is his footstool, or by Jerusalem, for it is (BO)the city of the great King. 36 And do not take an oath by your head, for you cannot make one hair white or black. 37 Let what you say be simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; (BP)anything more than this comes from evil.[g]
Retaliation
38 (BQ)“You have heard that it was said, (BR)‘An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.’ 39 But I say to you, (BS)Do not resist the one who is evil. But (BT)if anyone (BU)slaps you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also. 40 And (BV)if anyone would sue you and take your tunic,[h] let him have your cloak as well. 41 And if anyone (BW)forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles. 42 (BX)Give to the one who begs from you, and (BY)do not refuse the one who would borrow from you.
Love Your Enemies
43 (BZ)“You have heard that it was said, (CA)‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I say to you, (CB)Love your enemies and (CC)pray for those who persecute you, 45 (CD)so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and (CE)sends rain on the just and on the unjust. 46 (CF)For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? 47 And if you greet only your brothers,[i] what more are you doing than others? Do not even (CG)the Gentiles do the same? 48 (CH)You therefore must be (CI)perfect, (CJ)as your heavenly Father is perfect.
