Puro e impuro
(Mc 7.1-23)
15 Chegaram então de Jerusalém uns fariseus e especialistas na Lei para falarem com Jesus, perguntando-lhe: 2 “Porque desobedecem os teus discípulos aos costumes dos antigos? Não acatam o nosso ritual de lavagem das mãos antes de comer.” 3 Ao que Jesus respondeu: “E porque será que as vossas próprias tradições vão contra os mandamentos bem claros de Deus? 4 Por exemplo, Deus ordenou: ‘Honra o teu pai e a tua mãe’, acrescentando que ‘todo aquele que falar contra o pai ou a mãe deverá ser morto.’[a] 5 Mas vocês dizem: ‘Quem disser ao pai ou à mãe que aquilo que deveria dar-lhes é para dar a Deus, 6 está dispensado de honrar os seus pais.’ Assim ofendem a Lei divina para defender as vossas tradições criadas por homens. 7 Fingidos! Bem falou Isaías, o profeta, a vosso respeito:
8 ‘Este povo honra-me com os lábios,
mas o seu coração está longe de mim.
9 Os seus atos de adoração são vazios,
porque ensinam doutrinas criadas por homens.’ ”[b]
10 Então chamou de novo a multidão e disse-lhe: “Escutem o que vos digo e procurem entender. 11 O que entra pela boca não torna o homem impuro; antes o que sai da sua boca é que o torna impuro.” 12 Os discípulos disseram-lhe: “Escandalizaste os fariseus com aquela observação.” 13 E Jesus respondeu: “Toda a planta não plantada por meu Pai do Céu será arrancada. 14 Portanto, não se preocupem com eles. São cegos condutores de cegos. Quando um cego guia outro cego, acabam ambos por cair numa vala.”
15 Pedro pediu a Jesus: “Explica-nos o que quer dizer esta parábola.”
16 “Então não compreendem?”, perguntou-lhe Jesus. 17 “Não percebem que tudo o que entra pela boca, vai para o estômago e é lançado na latrina? 18 Mas o que sai da boca provém do coração e é isso que torna o homem impuro. 19 Porque do coração vêm os maus pensamentos, homicídios, adultérios, imoralidades sexuais, roubos, falsos testemunhos e calúnias. 20 Estas coisas é que tornam o homem impuro. Mas este não fica impuro só por comer sem lavar as mãos.”
A fé da mulher cananita
(Mc 7.24-30)
21 Jesus deixou então aquela parte do país e foi para a zona de Tiro e Sídon. 22 Uma mulher de Canaã que ali residia veio ter com ele e clamava: “Tem misericórdia de mim, Senhor, Filho do rei David! Porque a minha filha tem dentro dela um demónio que a trata terrivelmente!”
23 Jesus não lhe deu resposta. Os discípulos aproximaram-se e instaram com ele: “Diz-lhe que se vá embora; ela não deixa de andar a gritar atrás de nós.”
24 Jesus disse então à mulher: “Fui mandado a socorrer somente as ovelhas perdidas de Israel.”
25 Ela aproximou-se dele e adorou-o, suplicando novamente: “Senhor, ajuda-me!”
26 “Não está certo tirar o pão aos filhos e lançá-lo aos cães”, disse-lhe ele.
27 Ela retorquiu: “Isso é verdade, Senhor, mas até os cachorrinhos comem das migalhas que caem da mesa dos seus donos.”
28 “Mulher, a tua fé é grande; o teu pedido foi satisfeito.” E a filha ficou curada a partir daquele momento.
Jesus cura a todos
(Mc 7.31-37)
29 Jesus deixou aquele lugar e voltou para o mar da Galileia; subindo a uma montanha, sentou-se ali. 30 Uma enorme multidão trouxe-lhe os coxos, cegos, aleijados, mudos e muitos outros, pondo-os aos pés dele, que os curou a todos. 31 A multidão ficou admirada ao ver que os mudos podiam agora falar, que os aleijados recuperavam a saúde, os coxos andavam e os cegos recuperavam a visão! E dava glória ao Deus de Israel.
Jesus alimenta 4000 homens
(Mc 8.1-10)
32 Então Jesus chamou os discípulos para perto de si e disse: “Sinto compaixão desta gente, porque estão comigo há três dias e não têm com que se alimentar. E não quero mandá-los embora com fome para não desfalecerem pelo caminho.”
33 Os discípulos responderam-lhe: “E onde arranjaremos aqui num deserto pão em quantidade suficiente para sustentar tanta gente?”
34 “Quantos pães têm?”, perguntou-lhes. “Sete, e mais uns poucos peixinhos”, responderam. 35 Jesus ordenou a todo o povo que se sentasse no chão. 36 Então, tomando os sete pães e os peixes, deu graças a Deus, partiu-os em pedaços e entregou-os aos discípulos, que os distribuíram pela multidão. 37 Toda a gente comeu até ficar satisfeita. Recolhidas as sobras, ainda sobejaram sete cestos cheios. 38 Foram 4000 os homens que comeram, não contando mulheres e crianças. 39 Depois Jesus mandou a multidão embora, entrou no barco e atravessou para Magadã.

15 Then some P’rushim and Torah-teachers from Yerushalayim came to Yeshua and asked him, 2 “Why is it that your talmidim break the Tradition of the Elders? They don’t do n’tilat-yadayim before they eat!” 3 He answered, “Indeed, why do you break the command of God by your tradition? 4 For God said, ‘Honor your father and mother,’[a] and ‘Anyone who curses his father or mother must be put to death.’[b] 5 But you say, ‘If anyone says to his father or mother, “I have promised to give to God what I might have used to help you,” 6 then he is rid of his duty to honor his father or mother.’ Thus by your tradition you make null and void the word of God! 7 You hypocrites! Yesha‘yahu was right when he prophesied about you,
8 ‘These people honor me with their lips,
but their hearts are far away from me.
9 Their worship of me is useless,
because they teach man-made rules as if they were doctrines.’”[c]
10 Then he called the crowd to him and said, “Listen and understand this! 11 What makes a person unclean is not what goes into his mouth; rather, what comes out of his mouth, that is what makes him unclean!”
12 The talmidim came to him and said, “Do you know that the P’rushim were offended by what you said?” 13 He replied, “Every plant that my Father in heaven has not planted will be pulled up by the roots. 14 Let them be. They are blind guides. When a blind man guides another blind man, both will fall in a pit.”
15 Kefa said to him, “Explain the parable to us.” 16 So he said, “Don’t you understand even now? 17 Don’t you see that anything that enters the mouth goes into the stomach and passes out into the latrine? 18 But what comes out of your mouth is actually coming from your heart, and that is what makes a person unclean. 19 For out of the heart come forth wicked thoughts, murder, adultery and other kinds of sexual immorality, theft, lies, slanders. . . . 20 These are what really make a person unclean, but eating without doing n’tilat-yadayim does not make a person unclean.”
21 Yeshua left that place and went off to the region of Tzor and Tzidon. 22 A woman from Kena‘an who was living there came to him, pleading, “Sir, have pity on me. Son of David! My daughter is cruelly held under the power of demons!” 23 But Yeshua did not say a word to her. Then his talmidim came to him and urged him, “Send her away, because she is following us and keeps pestering us with her crying.” 24 He said, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Isra’el.” 25 But she came, fell at his feet and said, “Sir, help me!” 26 He answered, “It is not right to take the children’s food and toss it to their pet dogs.” 27 She said, “That is true, sir, but even the dogs eat the leftovers that fall from their master’s table.” 28 Then Yeshua answered her, “Lady, you are a person of great trust. Let your desire be granted.” And her daughter was healed at that very moment.
29 Yeshua left there and went along the shore of Lake Kinneret. He climbed a hill and sat down; 30 and large crowds came to him, bringing with them the lame, the blind, the crippled, the mute and many others. They laid them at his feet, and he healed them. 31 The people were amazed as they saw mute people speaking, crippled people cured, lame people walking and blind people seeing; and they said a b’rakhah to the God of Isra’el.
32 Yeshua called his talmidim to him and said, “I feel sorry for these people, because they have been with me three days, and now they have nothing to eat. I don’t want to send them away hungry, because they might collapse on the way home.” 33 The talmidim said to him, “Where will we find enough loaves of bread in this remote place to satisfy so big a crowd?” 34 Yeshua asked them, “How many loaves do you have?” They said, “Seven, and a few fish.” 35 After telling the crowd to sit down on the ground, 36 he took the seven loaves and the fish, made a b’rakhah, broke the loaves and gave them to the talmidim, who gave them to the people. 37 Everyone ate his fill, and they took seven large baskets full of the leftover pieces. 38 Those eating numbered four thousand men, plus women and children. 39 After sending the crowd away, he got in the boat and went off to the region of Magadan.

That Which Defiles(A)
15 Then some Pharisees and teachers of the law came to Jesus from Jerusalem and asked, 2 “Why do your disciples break the tradition of the elders? They don’t wash their hands before they eat!”(B)
3 Jesus replied, “And why do you break the command of God for the sake of your tradition? 4 For God said, ‘Honor your father and mother’[a](C) and ‘Anyone who curses their father or mother is to be put to death.’[b](D) 5 But you say that if anyone declares that what might have been used to help their father or mother is ‘devoted to God,’ 6 they are not to ‘honor their father or mother’ with it. Thus you nullify the word of God for the sake of your tradition. 7 You hypocrites! Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you:
8 “‘These people honor me with their lips,
but their hearts are far from me.
9 They worship me in vain;
their teachings are merely human rules.(E)’[c](F)”
10 Jesus called the crowd to him and said, “Listen and understand. 11 What goes into someone’s mouth does not defile them,(G) but what comes out of their mouth, that is what defiles them.”(H)
12 Then the disciples came to him and asked, “Do you know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this?”
13 He replied, “Every plant that my heavenly Father has not planted(I) will be pulled up by the roots. 14 Leave them; they are blind guides.[d](J) If the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit.”(K)
15 Peter said, “Explain the parable to us.”(L)
16 “Are you still so dull?”(M) Jesus asked them. 17 “Don’t you see that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and then out of the body? 18 But the things that come out of a person’s mouth come from the heart,(N) and these defile them. 19 For out of the heart come evil thoughts—murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander.(O) 20 These are what defile a person;(P) but eating with unwashed hands does not defile them.”
The Faith of a Canaanite Woman(Q)
21 Leaving that place, Jesus withdrew to the region of Tyre and Sidon.(R) 22 A Canaanite woman from that vicinity came to him, crying out, “Lord, Son of David,(S) have mercy on me! My daughter is demon-possessed and suffering terribly.”(T)
23 Jesus did not answer a word. So his disciples came to him and urged him, “Send her away, for she keeps crying out after us.”
24 He answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel.”(U)
25 The woman came and knelt before him.(V) “Lord, help me!” she said.
26 He replied, “It is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to the dogs.”
27 “Yes it is, Lord,” she said. “Even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master’s table.”
28 Then Jesus said to her, “Woman, you have great faith!(W) Your request is granted.” And her daughter was healed at that moment.
Jesus Feeds the Four Thousand(X)(Y)(Z)
29 Jesus left there and went along the Sea of Galilee. Then he went up on a mountainside and sat down. 30 Great crowds came to him, bringing the lame, the blind, the crippled, the mute and many others, and laid them at his feet; and he healed them.(AA) 31 The people were amazed when they saw the mute speaking, the crippled made well, the lame walking and the blind seeing. And they praised the God of Israel.(AB)
32 Jesus called his disciples to him and said, “I have compassion for these people;(AC) they have already been with me three days and have nothing to eat. I do not want to send them away hungry, or they may collapse on the way.”
33 His disciples answered, “Where could we get enough bread in this remote place to feed such a crowd?”
34 “How many loaves do you have?” Jesus asked.
“Seven,” they replied, “and a few small fish.”
35 He told the crowd to sit down on the ground. 36 Then he took the seven loaves and the fish, and when he had given thanks, he broke them(AD) and gave them to the disciples, and they in turn to the people. 37 They all ate and were satisfied. Afterward the disciples picked up seven basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over.(AE) 38 The number of those who ate was four thousand men, besides women and children. 39 After Jesus had sent the crowd away, he got into the boat and went to the vicinity of Magadan.

15 τοτε προσερχονται τω ιησου οι απο ιεροσολυμων γραμματεις και φαρισαιοι λεγοντες
2 διατι οι μαθηται σου παραβαινουσιν την παραδοσιν των πρεσβυτερων ου γαρ νιπτονται τας χειρας αυτων οταν αρτον εσθιωσιν
3 ο δε αποκριθεις ειπεν αυτοις διατι και υμεις παραβαινετε την εντολην του θεου δια την παραδοσιν υμων
4 ο γαρ θεος ενετειλατο λεγων τιμα τον πατερα σου και την μητερα και ο κακολογων πατερα η μητερα θανατω τελευτατω
5 υμεις δε λεγετε ος αν ειπη τω πατρι η τη μητρι δωρον ο εαν εξ εμου ωφεληθης και ου μη τιμηση τον πατερα αυτου η την μητερα αυτου
6 και ηκυρωσατε την εντολην του θεου δια την παραδοσιν υμων

17 ουπω νοειτε οτι παν το εισπορευομενον εις το στομα εις την κοιλιαν χωρει και εις αφεδρωνα εκβαλλεται
18 τα δε εκπορευομενα εκ του στοματος εκ της καρδιας εξερχεται κακεινα κοινοι τον ανθρωπον
19 εκ γαρ της καρδιας εξερχονται διαλογισμοι πονηροι φονοι μοιχειαι πορνειαι κλοπαι ψευδομαρτυριαι βλασφημιαι
20 ταυτα εστιν τα κοινουντα τον ανθρωπον το δε ανιπτοις χερσιν φαγειν ου κοινοι τον ανθρωπον
21 και εξελθων εκειθεν ο ιησους ανεχωρησεν εις τα μερη τυρου και σιδωνος
22 και ιδου γυνη χαναναια απο των οριων εκεινων εξελθουσα εκραυγασεν αυτω λεγουσα ελεησον με κυριε υιε δαβιδ η θυγατηρ μου κακως δαιμονιζεται
23 ο δε ουκ απεκριθη αυτη λογον και προσελθοντες οι μαθηται αυτου ηρωτων αυτον λεγοντες απολυσον αυτην οτι κραζει οπισθεν ημων
24 ο δε αποκριθεις ειπεν ουκ απεσταλην ει μη εις τα προβατα τα απολωλοτα οικου ισραηλ
25 η δε ελθουσα προσεκυνει αυτω λεγουσα κυριε βοηθει μοι
26 ο δε αποκριθεις ειπεν ουκ εστιν καλον λαβειν τον αρτον των τεκνων και βαλειν τοις κυναριοις
27 η δε ειπεν ναι κυριε και γαρ τα κυναρια εσθιει απο των ψιχιων των πιπτοντων απο της τραπεζης των κυριων αυτων
28 τοτε αποκριθεις ο ιησους ειπεν αυτη ω γυναι μεγαλη σου η πιστις γενηθητω σοι ως θελεις και ιαθη η θυγατηρ αυτης απο της ωρας εκεινης
29 και μεταβας εκειθεν ο ιησους ηλθεν παρα την θαλασσαν της γαλιλαιας και αναβας εις το ορος εκαθητο εκει
30 και προσηλθον αυτω οχλοι πολλοι εχοντες μεθ εαυτων χωλους τυφλους κωφους κυλλους και ετερους πολλους και ερριψαν αυτους παρα τους ποδας του ιησου και εθεραπευσεν αυτους
31 ωστε τους οχλους θαυμασαι βλεποντας κωφους λαλουντας κυλλους υγιεις χωλους περιπατουντας και τυφλους βλεποντας και εδοξασαν τον θεον ισραηλ
32 ο δε ιησους προσκαλεσαμενος τους μαθητας αυτου ειπεν σπλαγχνιζομαι επι τον οχλον οτι ηδη ημερας τρεις προσμενουσιν μοι και ουκ εχουσιν τι φαγωσιν και απολυσαι αυτους νηστεις ου θελω μηποτε εκλυθωσιν εν τη οδω
33 και λεγουσιν αυτω οι μαθηται αυτου ποθεν ημιν εν ερημια αρτοι τοσουτοι ωστε χορτασαι οχλον τοσουτον
34 και λεγει αυτοις ο ιησους ποσους αρτους εχετε οι δε ειπον επτα και ολιγα ιχθυδια
35 και εκελευσεν τοις οχλοις αναπεσειν επι την γην
36 και λαβων τους επτα αρτους και τους ιχθυας ευχαριστησας εκλασεν και εδωκεν τοις μαθηταις αυτου οι δε μαθηται τω οχλω
37 και εφαγον παντες και εχορτασθησαν και ηραν το περισσευον των κλασματων επτα σπυριδας πληρεις
38 οι δε εσθιοντες ησαν τετρακισχιλιοι ανδρες χωρις γυναικων και παιδιων
39 και απολυσας τους οχλους ενεβη εις το πλοιον και ηλθεν εις τα ορια μαγδαλα
