Curación de un leproso
8 Y cuando bajó del monte, grandes multitudes le seguían. 2 (A)Y he aquí, se le acercó un leproso y se postró ante Él[a](B), diciendo: Señor, si quieres, puedes limpiarme. 3 Y extendiendo Jesús la mano, lo tocó, diciendo: Quiero; sé limpio. Y al instante quedó limpio de su lepra[b](C). 4 Entonces Jesús le dijo*: Mira, no se lo digas a nadie(D), sino ve(E), muéstrate al sacerdote(F) y presenta la ofrenda que ordenó Moisés, para que les sirva de testimonio a ellos.
Jesús sana al criado del centurión
5 (G)Y cuando entró Jesús[c] en Capernaúm se le acercó un centurión suplicándole, 6 y diciendo: Señor, mi criado[d] está postrado en casa, paralítico(H), sufriendo mucho[e]. 7 Y Jesús le dijo*: Yo iré y lo sanaré. 8 Pero el centurión respondió y dijo: Señor, no soy digno de que entres bajo mi techo; mas solamente di la palabra[f] y mi criado[g] quedará sano. 9 Porque yo también soy hombre bajo autoridad(I), con[h] soldados a mis órdenes[i]; y digo a este: «Ve», y va; y al otro: «Ven», y viene; y a mi siervo: «Haz esto», y lo hace. 10 Al oírlo Jesús, se maravilló y dijo a los que le seguían: En verdad os digo que en Israel[j] no he hallado en nadie una fe tan grande. 11 Y os digo que vendrán muchos del oriente y del occidente(J), y se sentarán[k] a la mesa con Abraham, Isaac y Jacob en el reino de los cielos. 12 Pero los hijos del reino(K) serán arrojados a las tinieblas de afuera(L); allí será el llanto y el crujir de dientes(M). 13 Entonces Jesús dijo al centurión: Vete; así como has creído(N), te sea hecho. Jesús sana a la suegra de Pedro y a muchos otros
14 (O)Al llegar Jesús a casa de Pedro, vio a la suegra de este[m] que yacía en cama[n] con fiebre. 15 Le tocó la mano, y la fiebre la dejó; y ella se levantó y le servía. 16 Y al atardecer, le trajeron muchos endemoniados(P); y expulsó a los espíritus con su palabra, y sanó a todos los que estaban enfermos(Q), 17 para que se cumpliera lo que fue dicho por medio del profeta Isaías cuando dijo: El mismo tomo nuestras flaquezas y llevo[o] nuestras enfermedades(R).
Lo que demanda el discipulado
18 Viendo Jesús una multitud a su alrededor, dio orden(S) de pasar al otro lado. 19 (T)Y un escriba se le acercó y le dijo: Maestro, te seguiré adondequiera que vayas. 20 Y Jesús le dijo*: Las zorras tienen madrigueras y las aves del cielo nidos, pero el Hijo del Hombre(U) no tiene dónde recostar la cabeza. 21 Otro de los discípulos le dijo: Señor, permíteme que vaya primero y entierre a mi padre. 22 Pero Jesús le dijo*: Sígueme, y deja que los muertos entierren a sus muertos(V).
Jesús calma la tempestad
23 (W)Cuando entró Jesús[p] en la barca, sus discípulos le siguieron. 24 Y de pronto[q] se desató una gran tormenta[r] en el mar, de modo que las olas cubrían la barca; pero Jesús[s] estaba dormido. 25 Y llegándose a Él, le despertaron, diciendo: ¡Señor, sálvanos(X), que perecemos! 26 Y Él les dijo*: ¿Por qué estáis amedrentados, hombres de poca fe(Y)? Entonces se levantó, reprendió a los vientos y al mar, y sobrevino una gran calma. 27 Y los hombres se maravillaron, diciendo: ¿Quién es este, que aun los vientos y el mar le obedecen?
Los endemoniados gadarenos
28 (Z)Cuando llegó al otro lado, a la tierra de los gadarenos, le salieron al encuentro dos endemoniados(AA) que salían de los sepulcros, violentos en extremo, de manera que nadie podía pasar por aquel camino. 29 Y[t] gritaron, diciendo: ¿Qué tenemos que ver contigo[u], Hijo de Dios(AB)? ¿Has venido aquí para atormentarnos antes del tiempo[v]? 30 A cierta distancia de ellos había una piara de muchos cerdos paciendo; 31 y los demonios le rogaban, diciendo: Si vas a echarnos fuera, mándanos a la piara de cerdos. 32 Entonces Él les dijo: ¡Id! Y ellos salieron y entraron en los cerdos; y he aquí que la piara entera se precipitó por un despeñadero al mar, y perecieron en las aguas. 33 Los que cuidaban la piara huyeron; y fueron a la ciudad y lo contaron todo, incluso[w] lo de los endemoniados(AC). 34 Y[x] toda la ciudad salió al encuentro de Jesús; y cuando le vieron, le rogaron que se fuera de su comarca(AD).

8 When he was come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him.
2 And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.
3 And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.
4 And Jesus saith unto him, See thou tell no man; but go thy way, shew thyself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.
5 And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him,
6 And saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented.
7 And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him.
8 The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.
9 For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.
10 When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.
11 And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven.
12 But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
13 And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour.
14 And when Jesus was come into Peter's house, he saw his wife's mother laid, and sick of a fever.
15 And he touched her hand, and the fever left her: and she arose, and ministered unto them.
16 When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick:
17 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.
18 Now when Jesus saw great multitudes about him, he gave commandment to depart unto the other side.
19 And a certain scribe came, and said unto him, Master, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest.
20 And Jesus saith unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.
21 And another of his disciples said unto him, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father.
22 But Jesus said unto him, Follow me; and let the dead bury their dead.
23 And when he was entered into a ship, his disciples followed him.
24 And, behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves: but he was asleep.
25 And his disciples came to him, and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish.
26 And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.
27 But the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him!
28 And when he was come to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes, there met him two possessed with devils, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man might pass by that way.
29 And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time?
30 And there was a good way off from them an herd of many swine feeding.
31 So the devils besought him, saying, If thou cast us out, suffer us to go away into the herd of swine.
32 And he said unto them, Go. And when they were come out, they went into the herd of swine: and, behold, the whole herd of swine ran violently down a steep place into the sea, and perished in the waters.
33 And they that kept them fled, and went their ways into the city, and told every thing, and what was befallen to the possessed of the devils.
34 And, behold, the whole city came out to meet Jesus: and when they saw him, they besought him that he would depart out of their coasts.

Jesus Cleanses a Leper
8 When he came down from the mountain, (A)great crowds followed him. 2 (B)And behold, a leper[a] came to him and (C)knelt before him, saying, “Lord, if you will, you can make me clean.” 3 And Jesus[b] stretched out his hand and touched him, saying, “I will; be clean.” And immediately his leprosy was cleansed. 4 And Jesus said to him, (D)“See that you say nothing to anyone, but go, (E)show yourself to the priest and (F)offer the gift that Moses commanded, (G)for a proof to them.”
The Faith of a Centurion
5 (H)When he had entered Capernaum, a centurion came forward to him, appealing to him, 6 “Lord, my servant is lying paralyzed at home, suffering terribly.” 7 And he said to him, “I will come and heal him.” 8 But the centurion replied, “Lord, I am not worthy to have you come under my roof, but (I)only say the word, and my servant will be healed. 9 For I too am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. And I say to one, ‘Go,’ and he goes, and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes, and to my servant,[c] ‘Do this,’ and he does it.” 10 When Jesus heard this, (J)he marveled and said to those who followed him, “Truly, I tell you, with (K)no one in Israel[d] have I found such faith. 11 I tell you, (L)many will come from east and west and recline at table with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven, 12 (M)while the sons of the kingdom (N)will be thrown into the outer darkness. In that place (O)there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” 13 And to the centurion Jesus said, “Go; let it be done for you (P)as you have believed.” (Q)And the servant was healed at that very moment.
Jesus Heals Many
14 (R)And when Jesus entered Peter's house, he saw (S)his mother-in-law lying sick with a fever. 15 He (T)touched her hand, and the fever left her, and she rose and began to serve him. 16 That evening they brought to him many who were (U)oppressed by demons, and he cast out the spirits (V)with a word and healed all who were sick. 17 (W)This was to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah: (X)“He took our illnesses and bore our diseases.”
The Cost of Following Jesus
18 Now (Y)when Jesus saw a crowd around him, (Z)he gave orders to go over to the other side. 19 (AA)And a scribe came up and said to him, “Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go.” 20 And Jesus said to him, “Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head.” 21 Another of the disciples said to him, “Lord, let me first go and bury my father.” 22 And Jesus said to him, “Follow me, and leave (AB)the dead to bury their own dead.”
Jesus Calms a Storm
23 (AC)And when he got into the boat, his disciples followed him. 24 And behold, there arose a great storm on the sea, so that the boat was being swamped by the waves; but (AD)he was asleep. 25 And they went and woke him, saying, (AE)“Save us, Lord; we are perishing.” 26 And he said to them, “Why are you (AF)afraid, (AG)O you of little faith?” Then he rose and (AH)rebuked the winds and the sea, and (AI)there was a great calm. 27 And the men (AJ)marveled, saying, “What sort of man is this, that even (AK)winds and sea obey him?”
Jesus Heals Two Men with Demons
28 (AL)And when he came to the other side, to the country of the Gadarenes,[e] two (AM)demon-possessed[f] men met him, coming out of the tombs, so fierce that no one could pass that way. 29 And behold, they (AN)cried out, “What have you to do with us, (AO)O Son of God? Have you come here to torment us (AP)before the time?” 30 Now a herd of many pigs was feeding at some distance from them. 31 And the demons begged him, saying, “If you cast us out, send us away into the herd of pigs.” 32 And he said to them, “Go.” So they came out and went into the pigs, and behold, the whole herd rushed down the steep bank into the sea and drowned in the waters. 33 The herdsmen fled, and going into the city they told everything, especially what had happened to the (AQ)demon-possessed men. 34 And behold, all the city came out to meet Jesus, and when they saw him, (AR)they begged him to leave their region.

Jesus botar en spetälsk
8 När han gick ner från berget, följde mycket folk efter honom. 2 Då kom en spetälsk[a] fram och föll ner för honom och sade: "Herre, om du vill, kan du göra mig ren." 3 Jesus räckte ut handen och rörde vid honom och sade: "Jag vill. Bli ren!" Genast blev mannen ren från sin spetälska. 4 Och Jesus sade till honom: "Se till att du inte talar om detta för någon, men gå och visa dig för prästen och bär fram den offergåva som Mose har föreskrivit, till ett vittnesbörd för dem."[b]
En hednisk officers tro
5 Då Jesus var på väg in i Kapernaum, kom en officer[c] fram och bad honom: 6 "Herre, min tjänare ligger lam där hemma och har svåra plågor." 7 Jesus frågade honom: "Skall då jag komma och bota honom?" 8 Officeren svarade: "Herre, jag är inte värd att du går in under mitt tak, men säg bara ett ord, så blir min tjänare frisk. 9 Också jag är en man som står under andras befäl, och jag har soldater under mig. Säger jag till en: Gå, så går han, och till en annan: Kom, så kommer han, och till min tjänare: Gör det här, så gör han det." 10 När Jesus hörde det, blev han förvånad och sade till dem som följde honom: "Amen säger jag er: I Israel har jag inte hos någon funnit en så stark tro. 11 Jag säger er: Många skall komma från öster och väster och ligga till bords med Abraham och Isak och Jakob i himmelriket. 12 Men rikets barn skall kastas ut i mörkret utanför. Där skall man gråta och skära tänder." 13 Till officeren sade Jesus: "Gå, som du tror skall det ske dig." Och i samma ögonblick blev hans tjänare frisk.
Jesus botar de sjuka
14 Jesus kom hem till Petrus hus och fick se att Petrus svärmor låg sjuk i feber. 15 Han rörde vid hennes hand, och då lämnade febern henne, och hon steg upp och betjänade honom. 16 När det blev kväll, förde man till honom många besatta. Och han drev ut de onda andarna med ett ord och botade alla sjuka, 17 för att det skulle uppfyllas som var sagt genom profeten Jesaja: Han tog på sig våra svagheter, och våra sjukdomar bar han. [d]
Lärjungaskapets krav
18 När Jesus såg att en folkskara samlades omkring honom, befallde han att man skulle fara över till andra sidan sjön. 19 Då kom en skriftlärd fram och sade till honom: "Mästare,[e] jag vill följa dig, vart du än går." 20 Jesus sade till honom: "Rävarna har lyor och himlens fåglar har bon, men Människosonen[f] har inget att vila huvudet mot." 21 En annan av hans lärjungar sade till honom: "Herre, låt mig först gå och begrava min far." 22 Jesus svarade: "Följ mig, och låt de döda begrava sina döda."
Jesus stillar stormen
23 Jesus steg i båten, och hans lärjungar följde honom. 24 Då blåste det upp till full storm på sjön, och vågorna slog över båten. Men han sov. 25 De gick då fram och väckte honom och sade: "Herre, hjälp! Vi går under." 26 Han sade: "Varför är ni rädda? Så lite tro ni har!" Sedan reste han sig och talade strängt till vindarna och sjön, och det blev alldeles lugnt. 27 Männen häpnade och sade: "Vem är han? Till och med vindarna och sjön lyder honom."
Jesus botar två besatta
28 När Jesus kom över till gadarenernas område[g] på andra sidan sjön, kom två besatta emot honom ut från gravarna. De var så våldsamma att ingen kunde ta sig fram på den vägen. 29 Nu skrek de: "Vad har vi med dig att göra, du Guds Son? Har du kommit hit för att plåga oss i förtid?" 30 Ett gott stycke därifrån gick en stor svinhjord och betade. 31 De onda andarna bad honom: "Om du driver ut oss, skicka oss då in i svinhjorden." 32 Han sade till dem: "Far i väg!" Då kom de onda andarna ut och for in i svinen. Och hela hjorden störtade utför branten ner i sjön och omkom i vattnet. 33 De som vaktade svinen flydde in i staden och berättade alltsammans, också det som hade hänt med de besatta. 34 Hela staden gick då ut för att möta Jesus, och när de fick se honom, bad de att han skulle lämna deras område.
