5 Entonces el diablo lo llevó* a la ciudad santa(A), y lo puso sobre el pináculo del templo, 6 y le dijo*: «Si eres Hijo de Dios, lánzate abajo, pues escrito está:
“A Sus ángeles te encomendará”,
Y:
“En las manos te llevarán,
No sea que Tu pie tropiece en piedra(B)”».
7 Jesús le contestó: «También está escrito: “No tentarás[a]al Señor tu Dios(C)”».

5 Then the devil took him to the holy city(A) and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. 6 “If you are the Son of God,”(B) he said, “throw yourself down. For it is written:
“‘He will command his angels concerning you,
and they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.’[a]”(C)
7 Jesus answered him, “It is also written: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’[b]”(D)
