Ang Simula ng Paglilingkod ni Jesus sa Galilea(A)
12 Nang(B) mabalitaan ni Jesus na ibinilanggo si Juan, bumalik siya sa Galilea. 13 Ngunit(C) hindi na siya sa Nazaret nanirahan, kundi sa bayan ng Capernaum na nasa baybayin ng Lawa ng Galilea na sakop ng Zebulun at Neftali. 14 Sa gayon, natupad ang sinabi ni Propeta Isaias,
15 “Lupain(D) ng Zebulun at lupain ng Neftali,
daanang papunta sa lawa, sa ibayo ng Jordan,
sa Galilea ng mga Hentil!
16 Ang mga taong nasa kadiliman
ay nakakita ng maningning na ilaw!
Sa mga nakatira sa lilim ng kamatayan
ay sumikat ang liwanag.”
17 Magmula(E) noon ay nangaral si Jesus. Itinuturo niyang, “Magsisi kayo at talikuran ang inyong mga kasalanan sapagkat malapit nang dumating ang kaharian ng langit.”

Jesus Begins to Preach
12 When Jesus heard that John had been put in prison,(A) he withdrew to Galilee.(B) 13 Leaving Nazareth, he went and lived in Capernaum,(C) which was by the lake in the area of Zebulun and Naphtali— 14 to fulfill(D) what was said through the prophet Isaiah:
15 “Land of Zebulun and land of Naphtali,
the Way of the Sea, beyond the Jordan,
Galilee of the Gentiles—
16 the people living in darkness
have seen a great light;
on those living in the land of the shadow of death
a light has dawned.”[a](E)
17 From that time on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven(F) has come near.”
