Mga Tanda ng Huling Kapanahunan
24 Si Jesus ay lumabas at umalis mula sa templo. Lumapit sa kaniya ang kaniyang mga alagad upang ituro sa kaniya ang mga gusali ng templo.
2 Ngunit sinabi ni Jesus sa kanila: Nakikita ba ninyo ang lahat ng mga ito? Katotohanang sinasabi ko sa inyo: Walang maiiwanang isang bato dito na nakapatong sa kapwa bato na hindi babagsak.
3 Habang siya ay nakaupo sa bundok ng mga Olibo, ang kaniyang mga alagad ay lumapit sa kaniya nang bukod. Sinabi nila: Sabihin mo sa amin, kailan mangyayari ang mga bagay na ito? Ano ang tanda ng iyong pagdating at ang mga tanda ng katapusan ng kapanahunang ito?
4 Sumagot si Jesus sa kanila: Mag-ingat kayo, na hindi kayo mailigaw ng sinuman. 5 Ito ay sapagkat maraming darating sa aking pangalan. Sasabihin nila: Ako ang Mesiyas. At marami silang ililigaw. 6 Maririnig na ninyo ang mga digmaan at mga bali-balita ng mga digmaan. Ngunit huwag kayong mabalisa sapagkat ang mga bagay na ito ay kinakailangang mangyari, ngunit hindi pa ito ang wakas. 7 Ito ay sapagkat babangon ang isang bansa laban sa isang bansa at babangon ang isang paghahari laban sa isang paghahari. Magkakaroon ng mga taggutom, at mga salot at mga lindol sa iba’t ibang dako. 8 Ang lahat ng mga ito ay pasimula ng sakit na nararamdaman ng isang babaeng manganganak.
9 Pagkatapos ay ibibigay nila kayo sa paghihirap at papatayin nila kayo. Kapopootan kayo ng lahat ng mga bansa dahil sa aking pangalan. 10 Marami ang matitisod at magkakanulo sa isa’t isa at mapopoot sa isa’t isa. 11 Maraming lilitaw na mga bulaang propeta at ililigaw ang marami. 12 Dahil sa paglaganap ng hindi pagkilala sa kautusan ng Diyos, ang pag-ibig ng marami ay manlalamig. 13 Ngunit siya na makapagtitiis hanggang wakas ay maliligtas. 14 Ang ebanghelyo ng paghahari ng Diyos ay ipapangaral muna sa buong daigdig upang maging patotoo sa lahat ng mga bansa. Pagkatapos ay darating na ang wakas.
15 Makikita nga ninyo ang kasuklam-suklam na paninira na sinabi ni Daniel, ang propeta na nakatayo sa banal na dako. Siya na bumabasa, unawain niya. 16 Kapag mangyari ang mga bagay na ito, sila na nasa Judea ay tatakas sa mga bundok. 17 Siya na nasa bubungan ay huwag nang bababa upang kumuha ng anuman sa kaniyang bahay. 18 Siya na nasa bukid ay huwag nang babalik upang kumuha ng kaniyang mga damit. 19 Ngunit sa aba ng mga nagdadalang-tao at doon sa mga nagpapasuso sa mga araw na iyon. 20 Manalangin kayo na ang inyong pagtakas ay huwag mangyari sa taglamig o sa araw ng Sabat. 21 Ito ay sapagkat magkakaroon ng malaking kahirapan na hindi pa nangyayari mula pa ng simula ng sanlibutan hanggang sa ngayon. At wala ng mangyayaring katulad nito kailanman. 22 Malibang bawasan ang mga araw na iyon, walang taong maliligtas. Ngunit alang-alang sa mga hinirang, babawasan ang mga araw na iyon.
Ang Pagdating ng Anak ng Tao
23 Kung ang sinuman ay magsabi sa iyo: Narito, tingnan mo ang Mesiyas, o naroon, huwag mo siyang paniwalaan.
24 Ito ay sapagkat may lilitaw na mga bulaang Mesiyasat mga bulaang propeta. Magpapakita sila ng mga dakilang tanda at mga kamangha-manghang gawa upang iligaw, kung maaari, kahit ang mga hinirang. 25 Narito, ipinagpauna ko na itong sabihin sa inyo.
26 Kung sasabihin nga nila sa inyo: Narito, siya ay nasa ilang, huwag kayong pupunta. Kung sasabihin nila: Siya ay nasa silid, huwag ninyo itong paniwalaan. 27 Ito ay sapagkat kung papaanong ang kidlat ay nagmumula sa silangan at nakikita hanggang sa kanluran, gayundin ang pagdating ng Anak ng Tao. 28 Ito ay sapagkat kung nasaan ang bangkay, doon nagtitipon ang mga buwitre.
29 Pagkatapos ng mga paghihirap sa mga araw na iyon,
kaagad ang araw ay magdidilim. Ang buwan ay hindi magbibigay ng kaniyang liwanag, at ang mga bituin ay babagsak mula sa langit. Ang mga kapangyarihan ng mga langit ay mayayanig.
30 Pagkatapos ay makikita ang mga tanda ng Anak ng Tao sa langit. Pagkatapos ay mananaghoy ang lahat ng mga lipi ng lupa. Makikita nila ang Anak ng Tao na dumarating sa mga ulap ng langit na may kapangyarihan at dakilang kaluwalhatian. 31 Susuguin niya ang kaniyang mga anghel na may malakas na tunog ng trumpeta. Kanilang titipunin ang kaniyang mga hinirang mula sa apat na mga hangin, mula sa mga hangganan ng mga langit hanggang sa mga kabilang hangganan.
32 Ngunit alamin ninyo ang talinghaga mula sa puno ng igos. Kapag ang sanga nito ay nanariwa na, at lumabas na ang mga dahon, alam ninyo na malapit na ang tag-init. 33 Gayon nga rin kayo. Kapag nakita na ninyo ang mga bagay na ito, alam ninyo na ito ay malapit na, nasa pintuan na. 34 Katotohanang sinasabi ko sa inyo: Kailanman ay hindi lilipas ang lahing ito hanggang mangyari ang mga bagay na ito. 35 Ang langit at ang lupa ay lilipas ngunit kailanman ay hindi lilipas ang aking mga salita.
Walang Nakaaalam sa Araw at Oras
36 Patungkol sa araw at oras na iyon ay walang nakakaalam kahit ang mga anghel kundi tanging ang aking Ama lamang.
37 Ngunit katulad sa mga araw ni Noe, gayundin naman ang pagdating ng Anak ng Tao. 38 Ito ay sapagkat katulad ng mga araw bago ang baha, sila ay kumakain at umiinom. Sila ay nag-aasawa at ipinakikipagkasundo sa pag-aasawa hanggang sa araw na pumasok si Noe sa loob ng daong. 39 Hindi nila ito nalaman hanggang sa dumating ang baha at kinuha silang lahat. Gayon nga ang pagdating ng Anak ng Tao. 40 Sa araw na iyon, dalawa ang nasa bukid. Ang isa ay kukunin at ang isa ay iiwan. 41 Dalawang babae ang naggigiling sa gilingan. Ang isa ay kukunin at ang isa ay iiwan.
42 Kaya nga, dapat kayong magbantay sapagkat hindi ninyo alam kung anong oras darating ang inyong Panginoon. 43 Ngunit alamin ninyo ito: Kung alam ng may-ari ng sambahayan ang oras ng pagdating ng magnanakaw, siya ay magbabantay. Hindi niya pababayaang mawasak ang kaniyang bahay. 44 Kaya nga, kayo rin ay maging handa sapagkat darating ang Anak ng Tao sa oras na hindi ninyo inaakala.
45 Sino nga ang tapat at matalinong alipin na pinagkatiwalaan ng kaniyang panginoon at ipinagkatiwala ang kaniyang sambahayan upang magbigay sa kanila ng pagkain sa takdang panahon? 46 Pinagpala ang aliping iyon na pagdating ng kaniyang panginoon ay masumpungan siyang gumagawa ng gayon. 47 Katotohanang sinasabi ko sa inyo: Ipagkakatiwala sa kaniya ang lahat ng ari-arian ng kaniyang panginoon. 48 Ngunit kapag ang masamang aliping iyon ay magsabi sa kaniyang puso: Maantala ang pagdating ng aking panginoon. 49 Sisimulan niyang hampasin ang kaniyang mga kapwa alipin. Siya ay kakain at iinom kasama ng mga manginginom. 50 Ang panginoon ng aliping iyon ay darating sa araw na hindi niya inaasahan. Siya ay darating sa oras na hindi niya alam. 51 Puputulin siya sa dalawa at ang kaniyang bahagi ay ilalagay kasama ng mga mapagpaimbabaw. Doon ay magkakaroon ng pananangis at pagngangalit ng mga ngipin.

Tungkol sa Pagkawasak ng Templo(A)
24 Lumabas si Jesus sa templo at paalis na, nang lumapit sa kanya ang mga alagad niya upang ipakita sa kanya ang mga gusali ng templo.
2 Ngunit siya'y sumagot at sinabi sa kanila, “Hindi ba ninyo nakikita ang lahat ng mga bagay na ito? Katotohanang sinasabi ko, walang matitira ni isang bato rito na nasa ibabaw ng ibang bato na hindi ibabagsak.”
Mga Kahirapan at Pag-uusig na Darating(B)
3 Samantalang siya'y nakaupo sa Bundok ng mga Olibo, lumapit sa kanya nang sarilinan ang mga alagad, na nagsasabi, “Sabihin mo sa amin, kailan mangyayari ang mga bagay na ito at ano ang tanda ng iyong pagdating, at ng katapusan ng panahon?
4 Sumagot si Jesus at sinabi sa kanila, “Mag-ingat kayo na huwag kayong mailigaw ng sinuman.
5 Sapagkat marami ang darating sa aking pangalan, na nagsasabi, ‘Ako ang Cristo’ at ililigaw nila ang marami.
6 At makakarinig kayo ng mga digmaan at ng mga bali-balita ng mga digmaan. Mag-ingat kayo na huwag kayong mangamba, sapagkat kailangang mangyari ito, subalit hindi pa ito ang wakas.
7 Sapagkat maglalaban ang bansa sa bansa, at ang kaharian laban sa kaharian. Magkakaroon ng taggutom at mga lindol sa iba't ibang dako.
8 Ngunit ang lahat ng mga ito ay pasimula lamang ng matinding paghihirap.[a]
9 “Pagkatapos(C) ay ibibigay kayo sa kapighatian at kayo'y papatayin; at kayo'y kapopootan ng lahat ng mga bansa dahil sa aking pangalan.
10 Maraming tatalikod,[b] magtataksil at mapopoot sa isa't isa.
11 Maraming bulaang propeta ang lilitaw at ililigaw nila ang marami.
12 Dahil sa paglaganap ng kasamaan, ang pag-ibig ng marami ay lalamig.
13 Subalit(D) ang magtiis hanggang sa wakas ay siyang maliligtas.
14 At ang magandang balitang ito ng kaharian ay ipahahayag sa buong daigdig bilang patotoo sa lahat ng mga bansa; at pagkatapos ay darating ang wakas.
Ang Karumaldumal na Paglapastangan(E)
15 “Kaya,(F) kapag nakita ninyo ang karumaldumal na paglapastangan na sinabi sa pamamagitan ni propeta Daniel, na nakatayo sa dakong banal (unawain ng bumabasa),
16 ang mga nasa Judea ay tumakas na patungo sa mga bundok.
17 Ang(G) nasa bubungan ay huwag nang bumaba upang kunin ang mga bagay sa loob ng kanyang bahay.
18 At ang nasa bukid ay huwag nang bumalik upang kunin ang kanyang balabal.
19 Ngunit kahabag-habag ang mga buntis at ang mga nagpapasuso sa mga araw na iyon!
20 Kaya't idalangin ninyo na huwag mangyari ang pagtakas ninyo sa taglamig o sa Sabbath.
21 Sapagkat(H) sa panahong iyon ay magkakaroon ng matinding paghihirap na hindi pa nangyayari buhat sa pasimula ng sanlibutan hanggang ngayon, at hindi na mangyayari kailanman.
22 At kung hindi paiikliin ang mga araw na iyon, ay walang makakaligtas na laman, subalit alang-alang sa mga hinirang ay paiikliin ang mga araw na iyon.
23 At kung may sinumang magsabi sa inyo, ‘Masdan ninyo, narito ang Cristo!’ o, ‘Nariyan siya!’ huwag ninyong paniwalaan.
24 Sapagkat lilitaw ang mga bulaang Cristo at ang mga bulaang propeta, at magpapakita ng mga dakilang tanda at mga kababalaghan, anupa't ililigaw, kung maaari, pati ang mga hinirang.
25 Tingnan ninyo, ipinagpauna ko nang sinabi sa inyo.
26 Kaya,(I) kung sasabihin nila sa inyo, ‘Tingnan ninyo, siya'y nasa ilang,’ huwag kayong lumabas. ‘Tingnan ninyo, siya'y nasa mga silid,’ huwag ninyong paniwalaan.
27 Sapagkat gaya ng kidlat na nanggagaling sa silangan at nagliliwanag hanggang sa kanluran, gayundin naman ang pagdating ng Anak ng Tao.
28 Kung(J) saan naroon ang bangkay, ay doon magkakatipon ang mga buwitre.[c]
Ang Pagdating ng Anak ng Tao(K)
29 “At(L) pagkatapos ng paghihirap sa mga panahong iyon ay magdidilim ang araw, at ang buwan ay hindi magbibigay ng kanyang liwanag, at mahuhulog ang mga bituin mula sa langit, at yayanigin ang mga kapangyarihan sa langit.
30 Pagkatapos(M) ay lilitaw ang tanda ng Anak ng Tao sa langit, at tatangis ang lahat ng mga lipi sa lupa, at makikita nila ang Anak ng Tao na dumarating na nasa mga ulap ng langit na may kapangyarihan at dakilang kaluwalhatian.
31 Isusugo niya ang kanyang mga anghel na may malakas na tunog ng trumpeta at kanilang titipunin ang kanyang mga hinirang mula sa apat na hangin, mula sa isang dulo ng langit hanggang sa kabila.
Ang Aral Mula sa Puno ng Igos(N)
32 “Kaya, pag-aralan ninyo mula sa puno ng igos ang kanyang talinghaga: kapag malambot na ang sanga nito at umuusbong na ang mga dahon, alam ninyong malapit na ang tag-araw.
33 Gayundin naman kayo, kapag nakita ninyo ang lahat ng mga bagay na ito, alam ninyong siya'y[d] malapit na, nasa mga pintuan na.
34 Katotohanang sinasabi ko sa inyo, hindi lilipas ang lahing ito, hanggang sa maganap ang lahat ng mga bagay na ito.
35 Ang langit at ang lupa ay lilipas, ngunit ang aking mga salita ay hindi lilipas.
Walang Taong Nakakaalam ng Araw o Oras na Iyon(O)
36 “Subalit tungkol sa araw at oras na iyon ay walang nakakaalam, kahit ang mga anghel sa langit, ni ang Anak[e] kundi ang Ama lamang.
37 Kung(P) paano sa mga araw ni Noe, gayundin naman ang pagdating ng Anak ng Tao.
38 Sapagkat kung paano sa mga araw na iyon bago bumaha, sila'y kumakain at umiinom, at nag-aasawa at pinag-aasawa, hanggang sa araw na pumasok si Noe sa barko,[f]
39 at(Q) hindi nila nalalaman hanggang sa dumating ang baha, at tinangay silang lahat, ay gayundin naman ang pagdating ng Anak ng Tao.
40 Kaya, may dalawang taong pupunta sa bukid, ang isa'y kukunin, at ang isa'y iiwan.
41 May dalawang babaing magtatrabaho[g] sa isang gilingan; ang isa'y kukunin, at ang isa'y iiwan.
42 Magbantay kayo, sapagkat hindi ninyo nalalaman kung anong araw[h] darating ang inyong Panginoon.
43 Ngunit(R) unawain ninyo ito, na kung nalalaman ng puno ng sambahayan kung anong bahagi ng gabi darating ang magnanakaw, magpupuyat sana siya at hindi niya hahayaang pasukin ang kanyang bahay.
44 Kaya, maging handa rin naman kayo, sapagkat ang Anak ng Tao ay darating sa oras na hindi ninyo inaasahan.
Ang Tapat at ang Di-tapat na Alipin(S)
45 “Sino nga ba ang tapat at matalinong alipin na inatasan ng kanyang panginoon na pangasiwaan ang kanyang sambahayan, upang magbigay sa kanila ng pagkain sa tamang panahon?
46 Mapalad ang alipin na kung dumating ang kanyang panginoon ay maratnan siyang gayon ang kanyang ginagawa.
47 Katotohanang sinasabi ko sa inyo, ipagkakatiwala niya sa kanya ang lahat ng kanyang ari-arian.
48 Ngunit kung ang masamang aliping iyon ay magsabi sa kanyang puso, ‘Magtatagal ang aking panginoon,’
49 at pinasimulan niyang bugbugin ang mga kapwa niya alipin, at nakisalo at nakipag-inuman sa mga lasing,
50 darating ang panginoon ng aliping iyon sa araw na hindi niya inaasahan, at sa oras na hindi niya nalalaman,
51 at siya'y pagpuputul-putulin at ilalagay na kasama ng mga mapagkunwari, kung saan ay magkakaroon ng pagtangis at pagngangalit ng mga ngipin.

The Destruction of the Temple and Signs of the End Times(A)
24 Jesus left the temple and was walking away when his disciples came up to him to call his attention to its buildings. 2 “Do you see all these things?” he asked. “Truly I tell you, not one stone here will be left on another;(B) every one will be thrown down.”
3 As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives,(C) the disciples came to him privately. “Tell us,” they said, “when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming(D) and of the end of the age?”(E)
4 Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you.(F) 5 For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many.(G) 6 You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. 7 Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.(H) There will be famines(I) and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of birth pains.
9 “Then you will be handed over to be persecuted(J) and put to death,(K) and you will be hated by all nations because of me.(L) 10 At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, 11 and many false prophets(M) will appear and deceive many people.(N) 12 Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, 13 but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.(O) 14 And this gospel of the kingdom(P) will be preached in the whole world(Q) as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.
15 “So when you see standing in the holy place(R) ‘the abomination that causes desolation,’[a](S) spoken of through the prophet Daniel—let the reader understand— 16 then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 17 Let no one on the housetop(T) go down to take anything out of the house. 18 Let no one in the field go back to get their cloak. 19 How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers!(U) 20 Pray that your flight will not take place in winter or on the Sabbath. 21 For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now—and never to be equaled again.(V)
22 “If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect(W) those days will be shortened. 23 At that time if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Messiah!’ or, ‘There he is!’ do not believe it.(X) 24 For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders(Y) to deceive, if possible, even the elect. 25 See, I have told you ahead of time.
26 “So if anyone tells you, ‘There he is, out in the wilderness,’ do not go out; or, ‘Here he is, in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it. 27 For as lightning(Z) that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming(AA) of the Son of Man.(AB) 28 Wherever there is a carcass, there the vultures will gather.(AC)
29 “Immediately after the distress of those days
“‘the sun will be darkened,
and the moon will not give its light;
the stars will fall from the sky,
and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.’[b](AD)
30 “Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth[c] will mourn(AE) when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven,(AF) with power and great glory.[d] 31 And he will send his angels(AG) with a loud trumpet call,(AH) and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.
32 “Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. 33 Even so, when you see all these things, you know that it[e] is near, right at the door.(AI) 34 Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened.(AJ) 35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.(AK)
The Day and Hour Unknown(AL)(AM)
36 “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son,[f] but only the Father.(AN) 37 As it was in the days of Noah,(AO) so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 38 For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage,(AP) up to the day Noah entered the ark; 39 and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.(AQ) 40 Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left.(AR) 41 Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left.(AS)
42 “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come.(AT) 43 But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming,(AU) he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. 44 So you also must be ready,(AV) because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.
45 “Who then is the faithful and wise servant,(AW) whom the master has put in charge of the servants in his household to give them their food at the proper time? 46 It will be good for that servant whose master finds him doing so when he returns.(AX) 47 Truly I tell you, he will put him in charge of all his possessions.(AY) 48 But suppose that servant is wicked and says to himself, ‘My master is staying away a long time,’ 49 and he then begins to beat his fellow servants and to eat and drink with drunkards.(AZ) 50 The master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he is not aware of. 51 He will cut him to pieces and assign him a place with the hypocrites, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.(BA)

Jesus kündigt die Zerstörung des Tempels an (Markus 13,1‒2; Lukas 21,5‒6)
24 Jesus verließ den Tempel und wandte sich zum Gehen. Da kamen seine Jünger und wollten ihm die riesigen Ausmaße der Tempelanlage zeigen. 2 »Ihr bestaunt das alles, nicht wahr?«, sagte Jesus zu ihnen. »Aber ich versichere euch: Kein Stein wird hier auf dem anderen bleiben. Alles wird nur noch ein großer Trümmerhaufen sein.«
Die Zukunft der Welt (Markus 13,3‒8; Lukas 21,7‒11)
3 Als Jesus später am Abhang des Ölbergs saß und mit seinen Jüngern allein war, baten sie ihn: »Sag uns doch: Wann wird das geschehen? Welches Ereignis wird dein Kommen und das Ende der Welt ankündigen?«
4 Jesus antwortete: »Lasst euch von keinem Menschen täuschen! 5 Denn viele werden unter meinem Namen auftreten und von sich behaupten: ›Ich bin der Christus, der von Gott erwählte Retter!‹ Und so werden sie viele in die Irre führen. 6 Ihr werdet von Kriegen hören und davon, dass Kriege drohen. Lasst euch dadurch nicht erschrecken! Das muss geschehen, doch es bedeutet noch nicht das Ende. 7 Ein Volk wird gegen das andere kämpfen und ein Königreich das andere angreifen. In vielen Teilen der Welt wird es Hungersnöte und Erdbeben geben. 8 Das alles ist aber erst der Anfang – so wie die ersten Wehen bei einer Geburt.«
Die Verfolgung der Christen und die Zerstörung Jerusalems (Markus 13,9‒20; Lukas 21,12‒24)
9 »Dann werdet ihr gefoltert, getötet und in der ganzen Welt gehasst werden, weil ihr euch zu mir bekennt. 10 Viele werden sich vom Glauben abwenden, einander verraten und hassen. 11 Falsche Propheten werden in großer Zahl auftreten und viele verführen. 12 Und weil Gottes Gebote immer stärker missachtet werden, setzt sich das Böse überall durch. Die Liebe wird bei den meisten von euch erkalten. 13 Aber wer bis zum Ende standhält, der wird gerettet. 14 Die rettende Botschaft von Gottes Reich wird auf der ganzen Welt verkündet werden, damit alle Völker sie hören. Dann erst wird das Ende kommen.
15 Im Buch des Propheten Daniel ist die Rede von einem ›abscheulichen Götzendienst‹[a]. – Überlegt doch einmal, was die Worte bedeuten, die ihr dort lest! – Wenn dieser Götzendienst vor euren Augen im Tempel eingeführt wird, 16 dann sollen alle Bewohner Judäas ins Gebirge fliehen. 17 Wer sich gerade auf dem Dach seines Hauses aufhält, soll nicht erst im Haus seine Sachen für die Flucht packen. 18 Wer auf dem Feld arbeitet, soll nicht erst nach Hause laufen, um seinen Mantel zu holen. 19 Besonders hart trifft es in jener Zeit schwangere Frauen und Mütter, die gerade ein Kind stillen. 20 Betet darum, dass ihr nicht im Winter oder am Sabbat fliehen müsst!
21 Denn es wird eine Zeit der Not kommen, wie sie die Welt in ihrer ganzen Geschichte noch nicht erlebt hat und wie sie auch nie wieder eintreten wird. 22 Wenn Gott diese Leidenszeit nicht verkürzen würde, könnte niemand gerettet werden! Aber seinen Auserwählten zuliebe wird er diese Zeit begrenzen.«
Warnung vor falschen »Rettern« (Markus 13,21‒23; Lukas 17,23‒24)
23 »Wenn dann jemand zu euch sagt: ›Seht her, hier ist der Christus!‹ oder: ›Dort ist er!‹, glaubt ihm nicht! 24 So mancher wird sich nämlich als ›Christus‹ ausgeben, und es werden falsche Propheten auftreten. Sie vollbringen große Zeichen und Wunder, um – wenn möglich – sogar die Auserwählten Gottes irrezuführen. 25 Denkt daran: Ich habe es euch angekündigt! 26 Wenn also jemand zu euch sagt: ›Kommt und schaut, der Retter ist draußen in der Wüste‹, so geht nicht hin. Oder wenn man behauptet: ›Hier in diesem Haus hält er sich verborgen‹, dann glaubt es nicht. 27 Denn der Menschensohn kommt für alle sichtbar – wie ein Blitz, der im Osten aufzuckt und den ganzen Himmel erhellt. 28 Dies wird so gewiss geschehen, wie sich die Geier um ein verendetes Tier scharen.«
Retter und Richter (Markus 13,24‒27; Lukas 21,25‒28)
29 »Unmittelbar nach dieser großen Schreckenszeit wird sich die Sonne verfinstern und der Mond nicht mehr scheinen. Die Sterne werden aus ihrer Bahn geschleudert,[b] und die Kräfte des Weltalls geraten durcheinander.
30 Dann wird das Zeichen des Menschensohnes am Himmel erscheinen, und alle Völker der Erde werden jammern und klagen. Sie werden sehen, wie der Menschensohn in großer Macht und Herrlichkeit auf den Wolken des Himmels kommt. 31 Mit gewaltigem Posaunenschall wird er seine Engel aussenden, und sie werden seine Auserwählten aus allen Teilen der Welt zu ihm bringen.«
»Seid immer bereit!« (Markus 13,28‒32; Lukas 12,39‒40; 17,26‒36; 21,29‒33)
32 »Der Feigenbaum soll euch dafür ein Beispiel sein: Wenn seine Zweige saftig werden und Blätter treiben, dann wisst ihr, dass es bald Sommer ist. 33 Ebenso ist es, wenn all diese Ereignisse eintreffen. Dann könnt ihr sicher sein, dass das Ende unmittelbar bevorsteht. 34 Ja, ich sage euch: Diese Generation wird nicht untergehen, bevor das alles zu geschehen beginnt[c]. 35 Himmel und Erde werden vergehen; meine Worte aber haben für immer Bestand.
36 Und doch weiß niemand, wann das Ende kommen wird, auch die Engel im Himmel nicht, ja, noch nicht einmal der Sohn. Den Tag und die Stunde kennt nur der Vater. 37 Wenn der Menschensohn kommt, wird es sein wie zur Zeit Noahs. 38 Damals vor der großen Flut aßen, tranken und heirateten die Menschen, wie sie es immer taten. So ging es, bis Noah in die Arche stieg. 39 Die Leute merkten nichts von dem Unheil, das ihnen bevorstand, bis die Flut sie alle mit sich riss. So wird es auch beim Kommen des Menschensohnes sein. 40 Zwei Männer werden auf dem Feld arbeiten; der eine wird angenommen, und der andere bleibt zurück. 41 Zwei Frauen werden Getreide mahlen; die eine wird angenommen, die andere bleibt zurück.
42 Deshalb seid wachsam und haltet euch bereit! Denn ihr wisst nicht, wann euer Herr kommen wird. 43 Eins ist euch doch klar: Wenn der Hausherr wüsste, wann ein Dieb bei ihm einbrechen will, würde er wach bleiben und sich vor dem Einbrecher schützen. 44 Seid also zu jeder Zeit bereit, denn der Menschensohn wird gerade dann kommen, wenn ihr am wenigsten damit rechnet!«
Der treue Verwalter (Lukas 12,42‒46)
45 »Wie verhält sich denn ein kluger und zuverlässiger Verwalter?«, fragte Jesus die Jünger. »Angenommen, sein Herr hat ihm die Verantwortung für die übrige Dienerschaft übertragen und ihn beauftragt, jedem rechtzeitig sein Essen auszuteilen. 46 Dieser Verwalter darf sich glücklich schätzen, wenn sein Herr dann zurückkehrt und ihn gewissenhaft bei der Arbeit findet! 47 Ich versichere euch: Einem so zuverlässigen Mann wird er die Verantwortung für seinen ganzen Besitz übertragen.
48 Wenn jener Verwalter aber unzuverlässig ist und im Stillen denkt: ›Ach was, es dauert bestimmt noch lange, bis mein Herr kommt‹, 49 und er fängt an, die anderen Diener zu prügeln, sich den Bauch vollzuschlagen und Trinkgelage zu veranstalten, 50 dann wird die Rückkehr seines Herrn ihn völlig überraschen. Denn sein Herr kommt, wenn er nicht damit rechnet. 51 Er wird den Verwalter hart bestrafen[d] und ihm den Lohn geben, den die Heuchler verdienen. Er wird ihn hinausstoßen, dorthin, wo es nur noch Heulen und ohnmächtiges Jammern[e] gibt.«

42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.
43 But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.
44 Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.
45 Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?
46 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.
47 Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods.
48 But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming;
49 And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken;
50 The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of,
51 And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
