Ang Talinghaga tungkol sa mga Manggagawa sa Ubasan
20 “Ang kaharian ng langit ay maitutulad sa isang taong lumabas nang maagang-maaga upang kumuha ng manggagawa para sa kanyang ubasan. 2 Nang magkasundo na sila sa upa na isang salaping pilak[a] sa maghapon, ang mga manggagawa ay pinapunta niya sa kanyang ubasan. 3 Lumabas siyang muli nang mag-aalas nuwebe ng umaga at nakakita siya ng iba pang tatayu-tayo lamang sa palengke. 4 Sinabi niya sa kanila, ‘Pumunta rin kayo at magtrabaho sa aking ubasan, at bibigyan ko kayo ng karampatang upa.’ 5 At pumunta nga sila. Lumabas na naman siya nang mag-aalas dose ng tanghali at nang mag-aalas tres ng hapon, at ganoon din ang ginawa niya. 6 Nang mag-aalas singko na ng hapon, siya'y lumabas muli at nakakita pa ng mga ibang wala ring ginagawa. Sinabi niya sa kanila, ‘Bakit tatayu-tayo lang kayo dito sa buong maghapon?’ 7 ‘Wala po kasing magbigay sa amin ng trabaho,’ sagot nila. Kaya't sinabi niya, ‘Kung gayon, pumunta rin kayo sa aking ubasan.’
8 “Nang(A) gumagabi na, sinabi ng may-ari ng ubasan sa kanyang katiwala, ‘Tawagin mo na ang mga manggagawa at bayaran mo sila magmula sa huli hanggang sa unang nagtrabaho.’ 9 Ang mga nagsimula nang mag-aalas singko ng hapon ay tumanggap ng tig-iisang salaping pilak. 10 Nang lumapit ang mga nauna, inakala nilang tatanggap sila nang higit doon; ngunit ang bawat isa'y binayaran din ng tig-iisang salaping pilak. 11 Nang magkagayo'y nagreklamo sila sa may-ari ng ubasan. 12 Sinabi nila, ‘Isang oras lamang nagtrabaho ang mga ito na huling dumating, samantalang maghapon kaming nagtrabaho at nagtiis sa nakakapasong init ng araw. Bakit naman pinagpare-pareho ninyo ang aming upa?’ 13 Sumagot ang may-ari ng ubasan sa isa sa kanila, ‘Kaibigan, hindi kita dinadaya. Hindi ba't pumayag ka sa isang salaping pilak? 14 Kunin mo ang para sa iyo at umalis ka na. Ano sa iyo kung ibig kong bayaran ang nahuli nang tulad ng ibinayad ko sa iyo? 15 Wala ba akong karapatang gawin sa ari-arian ko ang aking maibigan? Kayo ba'y naiinggit dahil ako'y nagmagandang-loob sa iba?’”
16 At(B) sinabi ni Jesus, “Ang nahúhulí ay mauuna, at ang nauuna ay mahuhuli.”
Ikatlong Pagpapahayag ni Jesus ng Kanyang Kamatayan(C)
17 Nang nasa daan na sila papuntang Jerusalem, ibinukod ni Jesus ang labindalawang alagad at sinabi sa kanila, 18 “Pupunta tayo sa Jerusalem. Doo'y ipagkakanulo ang Anak ng Tao sa mga punong pari at sa mga tagapagturo ng Kautusan. Hahatulan siya ng kamatayan 19 at ibibigay sa mga Hentil. Siya'y kukutyain, hahagupitin at ipapako sa krus ngunit muli siyang bubuhayin ng Diyos sa ikatlong araw.”

20 Lumapit kay Jesus ang asawa ni Zebedeo, kasama ang dalawa niyang anak na lalaki. Lumuhod siya sa harapan ni Jesus upang sabihin ang kanyang kahilingan.
21 “Ano ang gusto mo?” tanong ni Jesus.
Sumagot siya, “Kapag naghahari na po kayo, paupuin ninyo sa inyong tabi ang dalawa kong anak, isa sa kanan at isa sa kaliwa.”
22 “Hindi ninyo nalalaman ang inyong hinihingi,” sabi ni Jesus sa kanila. “Kaya ba ninyong tiisin ang hirap na malapit ko nang danasin?”
“Opo,” tugon nila.
23 At sinabi ni Jesus, “Daranasin nga ninyo ang hirap na titiisin ko. Ngunit wala sa akin ang pagpapasya kung sino ang mauupo sa aking kanan at sa aking kaliwa. Ang mga upuang iyo'y para sa pinaglalaanan ng aking Ama.”
24 Nang marinig ito ng sampung alagad, nagalit sila sa magkapatid. 25 Dahil(E) dito, pinalapit ni Jesus ang kanyang mga alagad at sinabi sa kanila, “Alam ninyo na ang mga pinuno ng mga Hentil ay itinataas ang kanilang sarili bilang mga panginoon sa kanila, at ang kagustuhan ng mga nasa kapangyarihan ang siyang nasusunod. 26 Hindi(F) ganyan ang dapat umiral sa inyo. Sa halip, kung nais ninyong maging dakila, dapat kayong maging lingkod sa iba, 27 at kung sinuman sa inyo ang nagnanais maging una, ay dapat maging alipin ninyo. 28 Sapagkat maging ang Anak ng Tao ay naparito, hindi upang paglingkuran, kundi upang maglingkod at ialay ang kanyang buhay sa ikatutubos ng marami.”
Pinagaling ang Dalawang Bulag(G)
29 Pag-alis nila sa Jerico, si Jesus ay sinundan ng napakaraming tao. 30 Doon ay may dalawang bulag na nakaupo sa tabi ng daan. Nang marinig nilang dumaraan si Jesus, sila'y nagsisigaw, “Panginoon, Anak ni David,[b] mahabag po kayo sa amin!”
31 Pinagsabihan sila ng mga tao at pinatahimik, ngunit lalo silang nagsisigaw, “Panginoon, Anak ni David, mahabag po kayo sa amin!”
32 Tumigil si Jesus, tinawag sila at tinanong, “Ano ang gusto ninyong gawin ko sa inyo?”
33 Sumagot sila, “Panginoon, gusto po naming makakita!”
34 Nahabag si Jesus sa kanila at hinipo ang kanilang mga mata. Agad silang nakakita,[c] at sila'y sumunod sa kanya.

The Workers in the Vineyard
20 “The kingdom from[a] heaven is like a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire workers for his vineyard. 2 After agreeing to pay the workers one denarius[b] a day, he sent them into his vineyard. 3 When he went out about nine o’clock,[c] he saw others standing in the marketplace without work. 4 He told them, ‘You go into the vineyard, too, and I will pay you whatever is right.’ 5 So off they went. He went out again about noon[d] and about three o’clock[e] and did the same thing. 6 About five o’clock[f] he went out and found some others standing around. He asked them, ‘Why are you standing here all day long without work?’ 7 They told him, ‘Because no one has hired us.’ He told them, ‘You go into the vineyard as well.’
8 “When evening came, the owner of the vineyard told his manager, ‘Call the workers and give them their wages, beginning with the last and ending with[g] the first.’ 9 Those who were hired at five o’clock[h] came, and each received a denarius.
10 “When the first came, they thought they would receive more, but each received a denarius as well. 11 When they received it, they began to complain to the landowner, 12 ‘These last fellows worked only one hour, but you paid them the same as us, and we’ve been working all day,[i] enduring the scorching heat!’
13 “But he told one of them, ‘Friend, I’m not treating you unfairly. You did agree with me for a denarius, didn’t you? 14 Take what is yours and go. I want to give this last man as much as I gave you.[j] 15 I am allowed to do what I want with my own money,[k] am I not? Or are you envious[l] because I’m generous?’
16 “In the same way, the last will be first, and the first will be last, because many are called, but few are chosen.”[m]
Jesus Predicts His Death and Resurrection a Third Time(A)
17 When Jesus was going up to Jerusalem, he took the twelve disciples[n] aside and told them as they were walking along, 18 “See, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be handed over to the high priests and scribes, and they will condemn him to death. 19 Then they will hand him over to unbelievers[o] to be mocked, whipped, and crucified, but on the third day he will be raised.”
The Request of James and John(B)
20 Then the mother of Zebedee’s sons came to Jesus[p] with her sons. She bowed down in front of him to ask him for a favor. 21 He asked her, “What do you want?”
She told him, “Promise[q] that in your kingdom these two sons of mine will sit on your right and on your left.”
22 Jesus replied, “You don’t realize what you’re asking. Can you drink from the cup that I’m going to drink from?”[r]
They told him, “We can.”
23 He told them, “You will indeed drink from my cup. But it’s not up to me to grant you a seat at my right hand or at my left. These positions have already been prepared for others by my Father.”
24 When the ten heard this, they became furious with the two brothers. 25 But Jesus called the disciples[s] and said, “You know that the rulers of the unbelievers[t] lord it over them and their superiors act like tyrants over them. 26 That’s not the way it should be among you. Instead, whoever wants to be great among you must be your servant, 27 and whoever wants to be first among you must be your slave. 28 That’s the way it is with the Son of Man. He did not come to be served, but to serve and to give his life as a ransom for many people.”
Jesus Heals Two Blind Men(C)
29 As they were leaving Jericho, a large crowd followed Jesus.[u] 30 When two blind men who were sitting by the roadside heard that Jesus was passing by, they shouted, “Have mercy on us, Lord,[v] Son of David!” 31 When the crowd told them harshly to be silent, they shouted even louder, “Have mercy on us, Lord, Son of David!”
32 Jesus stopped and called them, saying, “What do you want me to do for you?”
33 They told him, “Lord, we want to be able to see!”[w] 34 Then Jesus, deeply moved with compassion, touched their eyes, and at once they could see again. So they followed him.
