5 Ibig ni Herodes na ipapatay si Juan, ngunit natatakot siya sa mga Judio sapagkat kinikilala nilang propeta si Juan na Tagapagbautismo.
6 Nang sumapit ang kaarawan ni Herodes, sumayaw ang anak na babae ni Herodias sa harap ng mga panauhin. Labis na nasiyahan si Herodes, 7 kaya't sumumpa siyang ibibigay sa dalaga ang anumang hingin nito.
