L’Évangile et l’autorité de Jésus
Jésus guérit les malades(A)
8 Quand Jésus descendit de la montagne, une foule nombreuse le suivit. 2 Et voici qu’un lépreux s’approcha et se prosterna devant lui en disant : Seigneur, si tu le veux, tu peux me rendre pur[a].
3 Jésus tendit la main et le toucha en disant : Je le veux, sois pur.
Aussitôt, il fut purifié de sa lèpre.
4 – Attention, lui dit Jésus, ne le dis à personne ; mais va te faire examiner par le prêtre et apporte l’offrande prescrite par Moïse. Cela leur servira de témoignage[b].

5 Jésus entrait à Capernaüm, quand un officier romain l’aborda. 6 Il le supplia : Seigneur, mon serviteur est couché chez moi, il est paralysé, il souffre terriblement.
7 – Je vais chez toi, lui répondit Jésus, et je le guérirai.
8 – Seigneur, dit alors l’officier, je ne remplis pas les conditions[c] pour te recevoir dans ma maison, mais tu n’as qu’un mot à dire et mon serviteur sera guéri. 9 Car, moi-même, je suis un officier subalterne, mais j’ai des soldats sous mes ordres, et quand je dis à l’un : « Va ! », il va. Quand je dis à un autre : « Viens ! », il vient. Quand je dis à mon esclave : « Fais ceci ! », il le fait.
10 En entendant cela, Jésus fut rempli d’admiration et, s’adressant à ceux qui le suivaient, il dit : Vraiment, je vous l’assure : chez personne, en Israël, je n’ai trouvé une telle foi ! 11 Je vous le déclare : beaucoup viendront de l’Orient et de l’Occident et prendront place à table auprès d’Abraham, d’Isaac et de Jacob, dans le royaume des cieux. 12 Mais ceux qui devaient hériter du royaume, ceux-là seront jetés dans les ténèbres du dehors. Là, il y aura des pleurs et d’amers regrets.
13 Puis Jésus dit à l’officier : Rentre chez toi et qu’il te soit fait selon ce que tu as cru. Et, à l’heure même, son serviteur fut guéri.
Il a porté nos maladies(B)
14 Jésus se rendit alors à la maison de Pierre. Il trouva la belle-mère de celui-ci alitée, avec une forte fièvre. 15 Il lui prit la main, et la fièvre la quitta. Alors elle se leva et se mit à le servir.
16 Le soir venu, on lui amena beaucoup de gens qui étaient sous l’emprise de démons : par sa parole, il chassa ces esprits mauvais. Il guérit aussi tous les malades. 17 Ainsi s’accomplissait cette parole du prophète Esaïe :
Il s’est chargé de nos infirmités
et il a porté nos maladies[d] .
L’engagement total du disciple(C)
18 Lorsque Jésus se vit entouré d’une foule nombreuse, il donna ordre à ses disciples de passer de l’autre côté du lac. 19 Un spécialiste de la Loi s’approcha et lui dit : Maître, je te suivrai partout où tu iras.
20 Jésus lui répondit : Les renards ont des tanières et les oiseaux du ciel des nids ; mais le Fils de l’homme n’a pas d’endroit où reposer sa tête.
21 – Seigneur, lui dit un autre qui était de ses disciples, permets-moi d’aller d’abord enterrer mon père.
22 Mais Jésus lui répondit : Suis-moi et laisse à ceux qui sont morts le soin d’enterrer leurs morts.
Plus fort que la tempête(D)
23 Il monta dans un bateau et ses disciples le suivirent. 24 Tout à coup, une grande tempête se leva sur le lac et les vagues passaient par-dessus le bateau. Pendant ce temps, Jésus dormait. 25 Les disciples s’approchèrent de lui et le réveillèrent en criant : Seigneur, sauve-nous, nous sommes perdus !
26 – Pourquoi avez-vous si peur ? leur dit-il. Votre foi est bien petite !
Alors il se leva, parla sévèrement au vent et au lac, et il se fit un grand calme.
27 Saisis d’étonnement, ceux qui étaient présents disaient : Quel est donc cet homme pour que même les vents et le lac lui obéissent ?
Plus fort que les démons(E)
28 Quand il fut arrivé de l’autre côté du lac, dans la région de Gadara[e], deux hommes qui étaient sous l’emprise de démons sortirent des tombeaux et vinrent à sa rencontre. Ils étaient si dangereux que personne n’osait plus passer par ce chemin. 29 Et voici qu’ils se mirent à crier : Que nous veux-tu, Fils de Dieu ? Es-tu venu nous tourmenter avant le temps ?
30 Or, il y avait, à quelque distance de là, un grand troupeau de porcs[f] en train de paître. 31 Les démons supplièrent Jésus : Si tu veux nous chasser, envoie-nous dans ce troupeau de porcs.
32 – Allez ! leur dit-il.
Les démons sortirent de ces deux hommes et entrèrent dans les porcs. Aussitôt, tout le troupeau s’élança du haut de la pente et se précipita dans le lac, et toutes les bêtes périrent noyées.
33 Les gardiens du troupeau s’enfuirent, coururent à la ville et allèrent raconter tout ce qui s’était passé, en particulier ce qui était arrivé aux deux hommes qui étaient sous l’emprise de démons. 34 Là-dessus, tous les habitants de la ville sortirent à la rencontre de Jésus et, quand ils le virent, le supplièrent de quitter leur territoire.

Vindecarea unui lepros
8 Când S-a coborât Isus de pe munte, multe noroade au mers după El. 2 Şi(A) un lepros s-a apropiat de El, I s-a închinat şi I-a zis: „Doamne, dacă vrei, poţi să mă curăţeşti”. 3 Isus a întins mâna, S-a atins de el şi a zis: „Da, vreau, fii curăţit!”Îndată a fost curăţită lepra lui. 4 Apoi, Isus i-a zis: „Vezi(B) să nu spui la nimeni, ci du-te de te arată preotului şi adu darul, pe care l-a rânduit(C) Moise, ca mărturie pentru ei”.
Vindecarea robului unui sutaş
5 Pe când(D) intra Isus în Capernaum, s-a apropiat de El un sutaş, care-L ruga 6 şi-I zicea: „Doamne, robul meu zace în casă slăbănog şi se chinuieşte cumplit.” 7 Isus i-a zis: „Am să vin şi să-l tămăduiesc.” 8 „Doamne”, a răspuns sutaşul, „nu(E) sunt vrednic să intri sub acoperământul meu, ci zi(F) numai un cuvânt, şi robul meu va fi tămăduit. 9 Căci şi eu sunt om sub stăpânire; am sub mine ostaşi şi zic unuia: ‘Du-te!’ şi se duce; altuia: ‘Vino!’ şi vine; şi robului meu: ‘Fă cutare lucru!’ şi-l face.” 10 Când a auzit Isus aceste vorbe, S-a mirat şi a zis celor ce veneau după El: „Adevărat vă spun că nici în Israel n-am găsit o credinţă aşa de mare. 11 Dar vă spun că vor veni mulţi(G) de la Răsărit şi de la Apus şi vor sta la masă cu Avraam, Isaac şi Iacov în Împărăţia cerurilor. 12 Iar(H) fiii Împărăţiei vor(I) fi aruncaţi în întunericul de afară, unde vor fi plânsul şi scrâşnirea dinţilor.” 13 Apoi a zis sutaşului: „Du-te şi facă-ţi-se după credinţa ta”.Şi robul lui s-a tămăduit chiar în ceasul acela.
Vindecarea soacrei lui Petru şi mai multor bolnavi
14 Isus S-a dus apoi(J) în casa lui Petru şi a văzut pe soacra(K) acestuia zăcând în pat, prinsă de friguri. 15 S-a atins de mâna ei şi au lăsat-o frigurile; apoi ea s-a sculat şi a început să-I slujească. 16 Seara(L), au adus la Isus pe mulţi îndrăciţi. El, prin cuvântul Lui, a scos din ei duhurile necurate şi a tămăduit pe toţi bolnavii, 17 ca să se împlinească ce fusese vestit prin prorocul Isaia, care zice: „El(M) a luat asupra Lui neputinţele noastre şi a purtat bolile noastre”.
Cum să urmăm pe Isus
18 Isus a văzut multe noroade împrejurul Său şi a poruncit să treacă de cealaltă parte. 19 Atunci(N) s-a apropiat de El un cărturar şi I-a zis: „Învăţătorule, vreau să Te urmez oriunde vei merge”. 20 Isus i-a răspuns: „Vulpile au vizuini şi păsările cerului au cuiburi, dar Fiul omului n-are unde-Şi odihni capul”. 21 Un(O) altul, care era dintre ucenici, I-a zis: „Doamne, dă-mi(P) voie să mă duc mai întâi să îngrop pe tatăl meu”. 22 „Vino după Mine”, i-a răspuns Isus, „şi lasă morţii să-şi îngroape morţii”.
Potolirea furtunii
23 Isus S-a suit într-o corabie, şi ucenicii Lui au mers după El. 24 Şi(Q), deodată, s-a stârnit pe mare o furtună atât de straşnică, încât corabia era acoperită de valuri. Şi El dormea. 25 Ucenicii s-au apropiat de El şi L-au deşteptat, strigând: „Doamne, scapă-ne, că pierim!” 26 El le-a zis: „De ce vă este frică, puţin credincioşilor?” Apoi S-a sculat(R), a certat vânturile şi marea şi s-a făcut o linişte mare. 27 Oamenii aceia se mirau şi ziceau: „Ce fel de om este acesta, de-L ascultă până şi vânturile şi marea?”
Doi îndrăciţi sunt tămăduiţi
28 Când(S) a ajuns Isus de partea cealaltă, în ţinutul gadarenilor, L-au întâmpinat doi îndrăciţi, care ieşeau din morminte. Erau aşa de cumpliţi, că nimeni nu putea trece pe drumul acela. 29 Şi iată că au început să strige: „Ce legătură este între noi şi Tine, Isuse, Fiul lui Dumnezeu? Ai venit aici să ne chinuieşti înainte de vreme?” 30 Departe de ei era o turmă mare de porci, care păşteau. 31 Dracii rugau pe Isus şi ziceau: „Dacă ne scoţi afară din ei, dă-ne voie să ne ducem în turma aceea de porci”. 32 „Duceţi-vă”, le-a zis El. Ei au ieşit şi au intrat în porci. Şi, deodată, toată turma s-a repezit de pe râpă în mare şi a pierit în ape. 33 Porcarii au fugit şi s-au dus în cetate de au povestit tot ce se petrecuse şi cele întâmplate cu îndrăciţii. 34 Şi iată că toată cetatea a ieşit în întâmpinarea lui Isus şi, cum L-au văzut, L-au(T) rugat să plece din ţinutul lor.

Jesus Heals a Man With Leprosy(A)
8 When Jesus came down from the mountainside, large crowds followed him. 2 A man with leprosy[a](B) came and knelt before him(C) and said, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.”
3 Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” he said. “Be clean!” Immediately he was cleansed of his leprosy. 4 Then Jesus said to him, “See that you don’t tell anyone.(D) But go, show yourself to the priest(E) and offer the gift Moses commanded,(F) as a testimony to them.”
The Faith of the Centurion(G)
5 When Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to him, asking for help. 6 “Lord,” he said, “my servant lies at home paralyzed,(H) suffering terribly.”
7 Jesus said to him, “Shall I come and heal him?”
8 The centurion replied, “Lord, I do not deserve to have you come under my roof. But just say the word, and my servant will be healed.(I) 9 For I myself am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I tell this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and that one, ‘Come,’ and he comes. I say to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”
10 When Jesus heard this, he was amazed and said to those following him, “Truly I tell you, I have not found anyone in Israel with such great faith.(J) 11 I say to you that many will come from the east and the west,(K) and will take their places at the feast with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven.(L) 12 But the subjects of the kingdom(M) will be thrown outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”(N)
13 Then Jesus said to the centurion, “Go! Let it be done just as you believed it would.”(O) And his servant was healed at that moment.
Jesus Heals Many(P)
14 When Jesus came into Peter’s house, he saw Peter’s mother-in-law lying in bed with a fever. 15 He touched her hand and the fever left her, and she got up and began to wait on him.
16 When evening came, many who were demon-possessed were brought to him, and he drove out the spirits with a word and healed all the sick.(Q) 17 This was to fulfill(R) what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah:
The Cost of Following Jesus(T)
18 When Jesus saw the crowd around him, he gave orders to cross to the other side of the lake.(U) 19 Then a teacher of the law came to him and said, “Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go.”
20 Jesus replied, “Foxes have dens and birds have nests, but the Son of Man(V) has no place to lay his head.”
21 Another disciple said to him, “Lord, first let me go and bury my father.”
22 But Jesus told him, “Follow me,(W) and let the dead bury their own dead.”
Jesus Calms the Storm(X)(Y)
23 Then he got into the boat and his disciples followed him. 24 Suddenly a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. 25 The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!”
26 He replied, “You of little faith,(Z) why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.(AA)
27 The men were amazed and asked, “What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!”
Jesus Restores Two Demon-Possessed Men(AB)
28 When he arrived at the other side in the region of the Gadarenes,[c] two demon-possessed(AC) men coming from the tombs met him. They were so violent that no one could pass that way. 29 “What do you want with us,(AD) Son of God?” they shouted. “Have you come here to torture us before the appointed time?”(AE)
30 Some distance from them a large herd of pigs was feeding. 31 The demons begged Jesus, “If you drive us out, send us into the herd of pigs.”
32 He said to them, “Go!” So they came out and went into the pigs, and the whole herd rushed down the steep bank into the lake and died in the water. 33 Those tending the pigs ran off, went into the town and reported all this, including what had happened to the demon-possessed men. 34 Then the whole town went out to meet Jesus. And when they saw him, they pleaded with him to leave their region.(AF)

10 When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.
11 And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven.
12 But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
13 And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour.
14 And when Jesus was come into Peter's house, he saw his wife's mother laid, and sick of a fever.
15 And he touched her hand, and the fever left her: and she arose, and ministered unto them.
16 When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick:
17 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.
18 Now when Jesus saw great multitudes about him, he gave commandment to depart unto the other side.
19 And a certain scribe came, and said unto him, Master, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest.
20 And Jesus saith unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.
21 And another of his disciples said unto him, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father.
22 But Jesus said unto him, Follow me; and let the dead bury their dead.
23 And when he was entered into a ship, his disciples followed him.
24 And, behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves: but he was asleep.
25 And his disciples came to him, and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish.
26 And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.
27 But the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him!
28 And when he was come to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes, there met him two possessed with devils, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man might pass by that way.
29 And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time?
30 And there was a good way off from them an herd of many swine feeding.
31 So the devils besought him, saying, If thou cast us out, suffer us to go away into the herd of swine.
32 And he said unto them, Go. And when they were come out, they went into the herd of swine: and, behold, the whole herd of swine ran violently down a steep place into the sea, and perished in the waters.
33 And they that kept them fled, and went their ways into the city, and told every thing, and what was befallen to the possessed of the devils.
34 And, behold, the whole city came out to meet Jesus: and when they saw him, they besought him that he would depart out of their coasts.
