39 (A)Naye n’abaddamu nti, “Omulembe omwonoonefu era omwenzi ogunoonya akabonero; temugenda kuweebwa kabonero okuggyako aka nnabbi Yona. 40 (B)Kubanga Yona nga bwe yamala mu lubuto lw’ekyennyanja ekinene ennaku ssatu emisana n’ekiro, n’Omwana w’Omuntu bw’atyo bw’alimala mu ttaka ennaku ssatu emisana n’ekiro. 41 (C)Abantu b’e Nineeve baliyimirira ne basaliza abantu b’omulembe guno omusango okubasinga, kubanga beenenya bwe baawulira okubuulira kwa Yona. Naye laba asinga Yona ali wano.

New International Version
39 He answered, “A wicked and adulterous generation asks for a sign! But none will be given it except the sign of the prophet Jonah.(A) 40 For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish,(B) so the Son of Man(C) will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.(D) 41 The men of Nineveh(E) will stand up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it; for they repented at the preaching of Jonah,(F) and now something greater than Jonah is here.
