⁸ “And ^(A)if your hand or your foot is causing you to sin, cut it off and throw it away from you; it is better for you to enter life maimed or without a foot, than to have two hands or two feet and be thrown into the eternal fire. ⁹ And ^(B)if your eye is causing you to sin, tear it out and throw it away from you. It is better for you to enter life with one eye, than to have two eyes and be thrown into the ^[a](C)fiery hell.

⁴³ And ^(A)if your hand causes you to sin, cut it off; it is better for you to enter life maimed, than, having your two hands, to go into ^[a](B)hell, into the ^(C)unquenchable fire.^[b]

⁴⁵ And if your foot is causing you to sin, cut it off; it is better for you to enter life without a foot, than, having your two feet, to be thrown into ^[a](A)hell.^[b]

⁴⁷ And ^(A)if your eye is causing you to sin, throw it away; it is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye, than, having two eyes, to be thrown into ^[a](B)hell, ^48 (C)where their worm does not die, and ^(D)the fire is not extinguished.

²⁸ but I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman ^(A)with lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. ²⁹ Now ^(B)if your right eye is causing you to sin, tear it out and throw it away from you; for it is better for you to lose one of the parts of your body, ^[a]than for your whole body to be thrown into ^[b](C)hell. ³⁰ And ^(D)if your right hand is causing you to sin, cut it off and throw it away from you; for it is better for you ^[c]to lose one of the parts of your body, ^[d]than for your whole body to go into ^[e](E)hell.
