Jesus uppstår från de döda
(Matt 28:1-8; Luk 24:1-12; Joh 20:1-18)
16 När sabbaten var över, köpte Maria från Magdala, Salome och Maria, Jakobs mor, välluktande oljor för att gå och smörja Jesus kropp.
2 Tidigt på morgonen efter sabbaten, vid soluppgången, gick de sedan ut till graven 3 och frågade varandra: ”Vem ska rulla undan stenen från ingången åt oss?”
4 Men när de kom fram såg de att stenen, som var mycket stor, redan var bortrullad. 5 De gick in i graven och såg där på den högra sidan en ung man sitta klädd i en lång vit dräkt.
Kvinnorna blev förskräckta. 6 Men han sa: ”Var inte förskräckta! Ni söker efter Jesus från Nasaret, han som blev korsfäst. Han har uppstått. Han är inte här. Titta, här är platsen där de lade honom. 7 Gå nu och säg till hans lärjungar, och till Petrus, att han ska gå före dem till Galileen. Där ska de få se honom, så som han sa till dem.”
8 Då lämnade kvinnorna graven och sprang därifrån, darrande och utom sig. De var så chockade att de inte sa något till någon.[a]

Efteråt berättade de helt kort allt de fått befallning om för Petrus och de andra som var med honom. Sedan sände Jesus genom dem ut det heliga och odödliga budskapet om den eviga räddningen, från öster till väster. Amen.

Jesus visar sig för Maria från Magdala
9 På morgonen, dagen efter sabbaten, när Jesus hade uppstått från de döda, visade han sig först för Maria från Magdala, som han hade drivit sju onda andar ur. 10 Hon gick och berättade det för dem som hade varit med honom och som nu sörjde och grät. 11 Men när de fick höra att han levde och hade visat sig för henne, trodde de inte på det.

12 Senare visade sig Jesus i en annan form för två av dem när de var på väg ut på landsbygden. 13 De gick och berättade det för de andra. Men ingen trodde på dem heller.
Jesus visar sig för sina elva lärjungar och befaller dem att sprida budskapet om honom
14 Lite senare visade han sig för de elva när de åt tillsammans. Han tillrättavisade dem för deras otro och envisa vägran att tro dem som hade sett honom sedan han uppstått från de döda. 15 Och han sa till dem: ”Gå ut i hela världen och förkunna evangelium för hela skapelsen. 16 Den som tror och blir döpt ska räddas, men den som inte tror ska bli dömd.
17 Dessa tecken ska följa dem som tror: de ska driva ut onda andar i mitt namn, de ska tala nya språk, 18 de ska utan risk kunna handskas med ormar, de ska inte bli skadade om de dricker något gift och de ska lägga händerna på de sjuka och göra dem friska.”
Jesus far upp till himlen
19 När Herren Jesus hade sagt detta till dem, togs han upp till himlen och satte sig på Guds högra sida.
20 Men de gick ut överallt och förkunnade, och Herren var med dem och bekräftade ordet genom de tecken som följde.

The Resurrection of Jesus
16 When the sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices, so that they might go and anoint him. 2 And very early on the first day of the week, when the sun had risen, they went to the tomb. 3 They had been saying to one another, “Who will roll away the stone for us from the entrance to the tomb?” 4 When they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had already been rolled back. 5 As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man, dressed in a white robe, sitting on the right side; and they were alarmed. 6 But he said to them, “Do not be alarmed; you are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has been raised; he is not here. Look, there is the place they laid him. 7 But go, tell his disciples and Peter that he is going ahead of you to Galilee; there you will see him, just as he told you.” 8 So they went out and fled from the tomb, for terror and amazement had seized them; and they said nothing to anyone, for they were afraid.[a]

[[And all that had been commanded them they told briefly to those around Peter. And afterward Jesus himself sent out through them, from east to west, the sacred and imperishable proclamation of eternal salvation.[b]]]

9 [[Now after he rose early on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, from whom he had cast out seven demons. 10 She went out and told those who had been with him, while they were mourning and weeping. 11 But when they heard that he was alive and had been seen by her, they would not believe it.
Jesus Appears to Two Disciples
12 After this he appeared in another form to two of them, as they were walking into the country. 13 And they went back and told the rest, but they did not believe them.
Jesus Commissions the Disciples
14 Later he appeared to the eleven themselves as they were sitting at the table; and he upbraided them for their lack of faith and stubbornness, because they had not believed those who saw him after he had risen.[c] 15 And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the good news[d] to the whole creation. 16 The one who believes and is baptized will be saved; but the one who does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: by using my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues; 18 they will pick up snakes in their hands,[e] and if they drink any deadly thing, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover.”
The Ascension of Jesus
19 So then the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God. 20 And they went out and proclaimed the good news everywhere, while the Lord worked with them and confirmed the message by the signs that accompanied it.[f]]]

One authority concludes the book with the shorter ending; others include the shorter ending and then continue with verses 9–20. Jesus Has Risen(A)
16 When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices(B) so that they might go to anoint Jesus’ body. 2 Very early on the first day of the week, just after sunrise, they were on their way to the tomb 3 and they asked each other, “Who will roll the stone away from the entrance of the tomb?”(C)
4 But when they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had been rolled away. 5 As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe(D) sitting on the right side, and they were alarmed.
6 “Don’t be alarmed,” he said. “You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene,(E) who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him. 7 But go, tell his disciples and Peter, ‘He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him,(F) just as he told you.’”(G)
8 Trembling and bewildered, the women went out and fled from the tomb. They said nothing to anyone, because they were afraid.[a]

15 He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.(L) 16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.(M) 17 And these signs(N) will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons;(O) they will speak in new tongues;(P) 18 they will pick up snakes(Q) with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on(R) sick people, and they will get well.”
19 After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven(S) and he sat at the right hand of God.(T) 20 Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs(U) that accompanied it.
